5 Druids! Anyone tried this?

I was talking to a fellow Guild member yesterday that was leveling up a 2nd druid, and got to thinking what would a 5 Druid Team be like? Feral Tank, Resto Healer, 3 OoomKin.

A few ideas i had that seemed like fun

5 cat form Stealh for those boss farming sessions, or avoiding unwanted attention. (and Chain Pounce!)

Travel Form for Early Speed Increase!

Flight Form at 68, for those Moon Fire Fly by spams!

and Epic HAX Form at 70! for HAX Farming and Fun!

Not sure if 3xBoomkin DPS would be enough for Heroics and stuff. but still seems like a fun idea.

I had posted this up a couple days ago, and I am actually in the process of finishing off the first steps of setting this team up. I am going Tank, 3 Moonkin and a Healer, much like you had said. With one of the Moonkins as a backup healer for later on. I hope it works out but only time will tell.

I thought of this. But I thought too much instead of just trying it. If you have a druid tank, you are fine, but maybe there is a better tank (better taunt and AOE aggro). If you have a druid heal, you are fine, but maybe there is a better healer (AOE heal and different buffs-instead of just the same). If you have moonkin for DPS you are fine, but maybe if you mix in a few different types, you get better utility (warlock-anti-run, hunter--offtank and low interaction needed, mage-water-portals). Everytime I thought about it, it just seemed like I was only getting stealth out of the deal and that didn't seem enough to me. Maybe it would be different in BG's or questing, but still, for instances, it just didn't seem that impressive. Don't mean to dash your hopes though, so try it out and tell us how it goes.

The only reason I never play my 5x druids is because I'm always distracted by other classes. Why have 3xboomkins when you can have 3xmages instead? Why have a drood healbot when a priest would be better? Why have only motw buff, when you could have fort and int?

This is so me. I hate even finished 1 team to 70. I started with 4 sham and a tank... Couln't power lvl them so switched to 3 locks, priest, tank. I could power lvl this team cause one of the locks was 70. When power lvling this team i am thinking of other teams and professions and stuff. Like 3 shadow priest, priest, tank; 3 hunters, priest, tank; 4 druids; 3 mages, priest, tank. I only like pve so that is why i always have a tank and healer. Now for professions... that would be fun have everything but clothies have alchemy. That would be something, talk about the daily primals and the transmute proc if it happens. Anyways going to focus on the lock team basically get the tank up so i can power lvl sham and any other team i can think of lol.

The only reason I haven't tried 5x druid is the lack of a regular rez.

@OP if you use the search option located on the top right of your screen you should be able to find some info on 5x druid teams. There are several people running one.

Instead of going: Feral + Moonkin + Moonkin + Moonkin + Resto

I would rather just done it like this:

Main toon: Balance all the way inc tress, But not the less threat talent + improved armor from the feral tree. Gear him with more stamina and all lethar, (aka Panzerkin)

Toon 2-5: Balance with the less threat talent and rest in resto. Normal moonkin specced.

Before a pull you hot up your main(regrowth is stacked for 21 secs x5) and pull and nuke the crap out of everything (aka 5 elly style) while the main will get all the agro and having hots to heal him. At some point you will need to restack some hots so have your toons in normaly forms. This way you can preaty much get tons of time to nuke with all the insane honts going on yor main.

I belive that MBing is alittle bit about breaking up in the traditional tank+healer+3dps setup and just going in with 5dpsers and nuke the crap out of the place

my 5x sham team is 51.. it's soo hard not starting antoher team up next team will be 5x shadow priest for pvp i think..

or like 4shadow 1 disc..

I wonder if you could tank a boss with like 20 Trees? I mean the booms have the 400% armor, you might not need a regular tank.

Here is an interesting guide about tanking as a boomkin. I think once you get to 40 and can boom, go 5x the boom.

I'm boxing 5 druids currently, all boomkin. I'm at lvl 43 and have cleared everything up to SM: Cathedral, and am currently working on ZF. So far, I've had a good time with it. Battle rez is kind of a blessing and a curse, it has saved my as more than once for sure. Right now 5 dps works pretty well, and innervate has solved most of my mana issues on longer boss fights. For the harder hitting bosses, I can stack both dot heals on my main, get initial aggro with them, and have no problem taking hits. With boomkin form, you get the same armor buff as you do in Bear form, just not the stamina (and I am decked out in cloth until outland: bad itemization at low levels ftl).

Personally, I like the versatility of the group. When doing quests, I can use kitty form and quest with zero downtime. And if I run into alliance, unless they are considerably higher level than me, I don't have any problems. Stealth, heals, melee, ranged.... I like it. And I can't wait to pvp with a flock of trees on my side
