    Default Replicating Key Bindings

    Hi folks,

So I'm still pretty new to this multi-boxing thing, and so I'm still doing a lot of experimenting with my keybindings as I settle in on something I like.

I haven't yet found a good way to replicate my keybindings across the different accounts. (I was able to locate the macros and get them to replicate across accounts).

I couldn't find instructions on this anywhere, but it seems like it ought to be a common enough problem that those instructions must exist somewhere. If anyone could point me in the right direction, it would be much appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Knobley

I got with KC yesterday and he helped out alot.

One thing you need to do is use focus..... much better.

I am trying to figure it all out on Thrall, Alliance if you are on today and whisper Cogsworth

Do you mean you want to copy your keybind settings from 1 client to the other clients?

This one stores your global bindings (per account)

    WTF/Account/[ACCOUNTNMAE]/bindings-cache.wtf

And this one stores your character specific bindings.

    WTF/Account/[ACCOUNTNAME]/[SERVERNAME]/[PLAYERNAME]/bindings-cache.wtf

Anyone know if this can be done on the fly? Like in game? make macro change on #1, run batch file x.bat - it replicates in real time to 2/3/4?
Resto Shaman + 4 DK's, work in progress...

in-game? unlikely, as wow would have to re-read the settings to properly bind.
but from the login or character selection screens i'd imagine it would work

Antishadow... (and others) thanks for your replies.

I've been copying the entire WTF/Account/[ACCOUNTNAME]/[SERVERNAME]/[PLAYERNAME] folder and that's taking care of the macros.

WTF/Account/[ACCOUNTNMAE]/bindings-cache.wtf... does this contain the bindings for every character in the account? Is there a way to select out a particular toon's key bindings and place them into another paticular toon's key bindings on the other account? That's what I really need to do, so as not to disrupt the existing key bindings of long-standing toons that are already in the target account.

    Thanks again,

    Knobley

    Ken,

Yes, that's exactly what I'd like to do. Ideally, I would like to do this at the toon level, so as not to disrupt existing key bindings for other toons on the target account.

    Your
WTF/Account/[ACCOUNTNAME]/[SERVERNAME]/[PLAYERNAME]/bindings-cache.wtf should be copyable to each character. Make sure that on the character though you have the use character specific keybinds checked off so it pulls from that and not the global ones. I checked the file just now to make sure it didn't have a character ID or something like that in there and it doesn't so just copying that into each characters directory "should" do it after that checkbox is marked off.

Aha! That's almost certainly going to be it. I'll check that once I get home.

    Thanks a ton!
