Thread: Multi Boxing 2

    Default Multi Boxing 2

    Hello

A little new so getting used to the term's and sayings you use.

I have had 2 Computers and 2 accounts for a while, and want to control them both with only 1 keyboard and 1 mouse. I have a very limited budget.

I did search for 6 months for equipement, and did find the PS/2 Keyboard Multiplier and the USB multoplier from Verta, but I couldn't get a solid answer about if the mouce would work. I had the budget back then to buy what I would have needed, if the mouse would work too, but never recived any solid confermation that it would have.

I need a cheap way to control both computers at the same time with only one keyboard, and one mouse using hardware only.

Each computer does have it's own keyboard and mouse already, but trying to control 2 characters on both computers using both keyboards and mice, gets rather confusing. Trying to position my hand to smash the lighting bolt command on both keyboards is twisting my hands in ways even yoga professionals would advise against. (snap crackle pop)

So if anyone has any advise that can help clear things up for me, a cheap way to pull this off, and clearing up some of my confusion from new words I have seen on the forums and what there definitions are, that would be really cool.

I did try to search for the info for 30 minutes before becoming crosseyed at all the new words and the uncertainty as to what was ment by them. The term multi-boxing has been using in a few too many ways from what I was expecting. I was expectin littirally and only, using multiple computers with completely independant CPU's Mother Boards, and all the rest. But sometimes the threads I looked at, seemed to be talking about only 1 box with a multi-core processor and more then 1 harddrive, and other things that have thorugh me for a loop.

Why not use software until you get more invested in it. I use HotKeyNet (www.hotkeynet.com) and love it. Simple to set up and simple to use.

Because both computers are older single core computers that cannot handle more then 1 instance of the game.

HKN is a software key broadcaster. It can send they keys to the same computer, or across the network to any other computers. I five box and only have 1 game on each computer.

So a wireless mouse with 2 recivers will work? But what about the signal? Can you use any reciver, or do you have to buy the same brand twice and have to work the software so that both computers reconise the 1 mouse at the same time? How accurate is this method too? Can you perfectly alline the the mouse on both computers using the same resolution, same pointer speeds, same icon placement and stuff?
