Default Question about PIPS and Maximizer

Hey all. I've been dial boxing for a while, but the old fashioned way (Running 2 instances of WoW and ALT-Tabbing and using Macro's...) I have gotten a few characters to the 40+ range and decided that I might want to try Tri-Boxing or even 5-Boxing.

However... I downloaded keyclone and have 2 questions about PIPS and MAximizer.

Currently, when I use PIPS and swap from character to character - I get too much of a delay (like 3 seconds of re-rendering of the screen) before i get control. Often too I get the common other characters running off randomly.

Is there a way to set this up so that all the screens stay the same space but the focus just moves? So if Say I set up

    Character 1 - F9
    Character 2 - F10

Instead of swapping, I just want to automatically chance to controlling the second character (or 3rd or 4th or 5th) in it's current window. Organizationally for me, I like to look at the same place for the same character and think this would be easier for me. Thanks!

The only way i know of is to simply click on the other window.

Maybe I misunderstood you, but are you trying to switch in the middle of combat for targeting and such?
Because if you are then you should check out the macro section for ways of targeting and casting without switching to another window.

I would use a lot of the common macros - for all accounts, but I would like to be able to set up hot keys for seperate classes or even using the round robin functionality.

I'm familiar with a lot of the marcros and attacking setups - but I'm not highly interested in doing something like One tank + 4 mages.

I want to TRY and do single class set ups - Like Pally Tank, Rouge, and Mage for 3 or maybe Pally Tank, Priest, 3 Mages... something different than the common 5 classes or 4 + 1 classes. And since a rogue requires a lot of positioning, I'd like to be able to Press f10 (or whatever hotkey I choose) and be able to get them in backstab position without swapping or using a mouse. Basically i just want to be able to swtich to a target window using hotkeys

There may be better ways of doing this, and some of my thinking may be skewed since I have been alt-tabing between 2 characters for like 42 levels... but - yeah, I'd like to be able to do it anyway since I get way too long delays the other way. I don't like doing it with my mouse either =/

This way I can control a lot of the characters manually when I need to - instead of clicking, especially for rogue.

ahh ok. I'm pretty sure theres no way to switch via a hotkey although it would be a nice new function for keyclone
But as far as positioning the rogue, you might want to search for a thread (forgot who posted it) that talks about 5 boxing melee classes. There was an idea of having, in your case, a rogue
following your main (tank?) to where you can line up the rogue like this:

    (tank>)-(<mob)-(<rogue)

in this case the < shows which way they are facing. Also, they described having a follow macro only on the rogue which would make it come to a distanced caster:

    (tank>)-(<mob)-----(rogue>)-(<caster)

this would be used to escape from AOE attacks.
all of this is explained clearer in the post, so you should definitely check it out.

you could enable focus-follows-mouse and just move the mouse to the appropriate screen.
as the mouse enters the region, that region will be active and ready for your input... no need to swap anything

Yeah so far that's what I've been doing.

I haven't actually paid for any of my extra 3 accounts yet (only paying for 2 atm) until the trial ends, so I'll be playing around with different set-ups.

Only problem I'm having is setting up a Paladin Considering Bloodelves are the only Pally race that i'm aware of, I didn't feel like wasting any of my time getting a level 1 pally over to the org, so Right now I'm doing a Warrior / Shamman / 3 Mage set-up to play around with Keyclone - Ding level 4!

For some Reason I just really want to try 5 boxing Pally / Rogue / Warrior / Mage / Mage ... I already have a level 70 Priest otherwise i'd try a priest in there. I feel hunter / Warlock might just be too hard.
