Default Have we been spoiled and ruined by WoW?

I have been playing AoC now for a while, and I am definitely concerned that multiboxing will never, NEVER be as easy and effective as it is in WoW.

I am concerned that new games wont be as interesting and have the lasting power that WoW has due to its ease of multiboxability =) (i think i just invented a new word)

I am worried that Ellay with one video has ruined my gaming future!!

    DAMN YOU ELLAY! =)

Companies should embrace boxers; follow wow and add similar functionalities. There's tons of people that have more than one account. Some may not go all the way to 5 but that's still extra cash. If a person is willing to pay more why would you want to stop them hehe..

I would actually love to see a game that is built around multi-boxing. Much like the way final fantasy games were built so that you controlled an entire party rather than just 1 avatar but instead breaking it down so that you can control each indiviual character in a real time battle rather than turn taking/ dice rolling battles.

Like Baulder's Gate? EQ was boxible, but really it's gonna be hard to make an MMO that is multi-box based.

Well yea like those games too but I'm talking like much more so, an MMO truely built around the idea of controlling more than one avatar at a time. Like built in PiP, /follow /stopfollow following in formation, melee units all running up directly to the target once the group has engaged in combat rather than having to mess around with posistioning, Macro's being able to be written all from the main window, main window swap with everybody in the group automatically assisting the new main, etc...

Quite honestly, I will be shocked if Blizzard doesn't implement this in the near future (like next two years). Even then, hardly anyone is going to MB, but still. You think they'd at least attempt it - they are pretty edgy as a company, overall.

Sword of the New World sort of does this. You control a party of 3 toons within one account. You can control them as a party or individually.

SotNW is no WoW or AoC but it is a free download and free to play. Certainly worth a try for something different.

    Default Key Word - multiboxability

Key Word here is multiboxability!!! LOVE IT!!! but great point! The aspect that I think is being forgotten is how much time all of us put into actually accomplishing the ability to multibox (multiboxability). There are plenty of people (like our prime candidates) that are not capable of figuring out how to do this without turn base. Not so much on the designers hands, but the boxer's IMO. Unless even more boxers exist than I think (which I don't), than this will never be worth any large corperation (aka Blizz) would spend the money to create something ALL multiboxable.
