Guilds officers can be stupid

When I grind my multi boxing team i use my rogue that is in active raiding guild. So i was like i'll ask the million dollar question. I asked the guild leader in the guild chat if i could raid as a multi boxer. Another officer whispers me saying no. I asked why not. He said that i don't have 100% control of my toons. I do agree with this and didn't say anything, because in some raid fights like gruuls you need to move. Then he whispers that i will not be able to give 100% dps. This really pissed me off. I whispered him back saying that how can't 3 warlocks not give 100% dps. He didn't say anything back to me. I know movement is the biggest thing that we don't have, but dps is probably the biggest thing that we have. Does anyone agree with me.

Well my new plan is to get well geared so when WotLK comes out i can get to 80 real quick so i can join a better raiding guild that will give a multi boxer a chance. Or when i get to 70 and short of well geared i can take the guild leader in a heroic instance and show him what i can do.

It's silly that he doesn't give you a chance to prove yourself. In my opinion: when multiboxers can do heroics, multiboxers can raid too.
I don't see the movement problem either. My characters always follow nicely and I can make them move with 1 keyboard alltogether in the same direction. The only real problem is when you're crowd-controlled, but that doesn't happen often.

Well the trick to getting high DPS on a lock at affliction levels (which is until you've got T5 on farm) is to dot up anything with a tank on it. I fail to see how having your main click targetting and pressing hot keys is going to be any less efficient on three locks compared to one. Casting spells at the same time on the same target is the one thing that's easy to do as a boxer. The same goes for demonology and destruction. Infact destruction would be easy mode++ cus all you do is spam shadow bolt.

Of course if you were controlling a toon of a different class at the same time, you'd struggle to meet 100% DPS on the locks unless you were incredibly nimble in the brain and fingers department but all locks would be trivial.

This was my thinking too. My main team will be a pally tank, healing priest and 3 locks. I know bring the full team will probably be bad, but if i just dring my dps (3 locks) i shouldn't have a problem. Or even bring my pally too cause tanking and dps wont be that hard after you are use to heroics. I can see the healing because you have to keep and eye out for everyone, but again if you tell them that you will cover your group then you might even be able to bring your whole party.

Anyone here in a good guild that likes boxers on a pve server horde?

a few days ago i was on my 5shams.. and a members alt keeps crying that hes dying over and over on the island... well yeah.. its like 2pm.. ally (PAA) owns dark iron hard.. and the isle is just a plce to go and die.. and as it was a female toon killin him i made the quick joke that he should stop whining bout women beating him up...

Basically it ended up with the guy crying in tells to me.. me telling him hes an asshole (in tells), and to stop being a baby... Gkicked... was actually pretty funny... wahh wahhhh pvp on a pvp server...

Not big on the whole "i lost 1v1, lets go get 8 people to pay them back" that was going on anyway..

I recently had a break through with my guild leadership involving Kara.

I've been offering to bring in part of my team so we can start clearing trash while we wait to fill the raid. After several weeks he finally allowed me to bring in my lock, mage, and hunter.

The 3 of them were the top 3 on the dps chart when we got to nightbane. This of course prompted a bunch of questions from him with the end result being told he now has no problem with me boxing during raids.

It did help that I'm one of my guilds raid leaders so I guess I've got a little bit of credibility with him.

Guilds should at least allow you a chance to prove yourself in a lower end raid like Kara.

However, I can see their point if they don't want you taking spots away from other guild members.

that is why i want to get my guys to 70 quick and start the equipment grind so when the new expansion comes out i can just do instant grind to 80 and get good gear. If i am one of the first to get geared then they will probably let me multi box because they will be eagerer to enter the new raids.


Hopefully bring the guild leader (not officer) to see what i can do in heroics to prove that multi boxing is not a heal. The leader is in all the 25 man raids so if i can make him see that is all that matters.

I dual box a druid and a mage, and I have cleared kara and grulls with them both on the team. And I know that it does gimp my dps because I have to focus more on healing then the pew pew. We have progressed through SSC, TK and are into hyjal so this is more of a farm thing anyway.

I am always willing to step out if we have someone else to come in, but it is very nice to be able to fill out a raid if you need that extra spot. i think the real key is you aren't taking away a spot from a guildie, because then you just look greedy.


Let's face it some fights just suck ass to box, aran comes to mind, and gruul. I wanted to Mage tank(I do this regularly) and heal myself, but I didn't have the gear at the time, i do now. So we will see how that goes...

Also I think multiple DPSers would have a better chance to help the raid because they do the same thing(especially if you can get them on the top of the dps list). My next group I am leveling is going to be 2 shadow priests. They do the same thing and have a lot of utility, mana regen, healing. I think they have a more viable chance in endgame raids than mixed heal/tank/dps groups.

I think that most people don't want 1 person's trial and error to waste 20 other people's time. You just have to prove yourself in Kara, then work up from there.
