    Default Question about Monitor Mounts

Now that I'm going hardware, I'm going to need a couple more monitors. Problem is that I'd like them to be above the three that I have now. I can't really find any good mounts that will lift the monitors that high and I'm not about to pay the ridiculous prices for a set of vertical mounts on a pole. Has anyone found anything that works well for this? In my case, stacking monitors on boxes won't really work here.

I'm still exploring all my options, but in the mean time I thought I'd ask. also, I know some people have been able to build these things on their own. I'm fairly handy and would be willing to attempt it. Is there a guide or how-to some place?

    Thanks.

    You could use these

You can get them quite cheaply from TV shops.

Wood + Drill + Screws if you don't care how it looks and want it cheap.

Well, I thought about the wood + drill + screws, but I'd rather have something that has a warranty on it. Also, Wall mounts aren't going to help me here. Of course, they would be a good start for a home-built unit (drill right into the wood), but anyhow.

I just can't believe that I am unable to locate a mount that is able to provide 23-24 inches of lift from the top of the desk to the center of the higher-up monitors.

    Default Well wouldn't you know!?!?!?

This one does EXACTLY what I need. And, it's being sold here for what seems to be a decent price.

Huzzah! Seek and ye shall find, or something like that.

Just a little forewarning for when you install it: I would place a medium thick cloth on both sides of the clamp if you are using a wooden desk. I had installed my clamp mount and about 3 weeks later the indentions on the desk were noticable but still functional. Just an aesthetic future warning >>.

The desk itself is actually glass, but DANG. I would never have thought about protecting a wood desk. Oh, and for those looking to buy the product I linked above - DO IT. I got it today and I couldn't be happier. Well, there is one little oddity with the way the base pole wobbles, but that goes away as soon as you tighten everything up after you're done assembling. It's a SOLID piece of equipment and I'm really glad I bought it.
