Default 5 instances on 1 monitor low fps

    Processor: Intel q6600 quad
    Ram: 4GB
    Video Card: 8800GT 512MB
    Monitor: Hanns-G 28 - 1920x1200
    OS: Vista 64bit

I am using keyclone with the following setup:

    Region0: CPU affinity 1 - Resolution 1100x600
    Region1: CPU affinity 2 - Resolution 800x600
    Region2: CPU affinity 2 - Resolution 680x600
    Region3: CPU affinity 3 - Resolution 680x600
    Region4: CPU affinity 3 - Resolution 680x600

I know the resolutions may not be conventional but I found it to work with Region0 and Region1 filling the top half of my monitor and the other 3 the bottom half.

I set my maxfpsbk to 15 and maxfps to 45, I found that forum post by keyclone and set all settings to "low detail" on all except my main.

I am getting 20 fps on my main and 15 fps on my clones consistently anywhere, even inside instances. I've searched the forums and tried just about everything I can think of and my main sometimes will hit 30 fps but rarely. Any advice? What am I doing wrong?

Check out this thread for a tip on performance increase using Symbolically Linked folders.

I had better results not setting the affinity in keyclone. The problem with keyclone is that it does not allow you to assign multiple cpus to a single character as far as I know. If you edit the config.wtf and set the ProcessorAffinityMask for each account instead you can assign all cpus, or multiple cpus per character. For example, I have a quad core cpu so I set my config.wtf as: SET processAffinityMask "15". Which means use any of the 4 cores, if you don't set it to 15, wow will only ever use the first 2 by default, and 3 and 4 will go unused.

yeah i get the feeling you are using 5 different wow folders

this causes the HD to do overtime loading every file 5 times trough those tiny little cables and cache memory

easies way to try out if this helps,
load all wow sessions from 1 !! folder (ignore messed up ui and such)
if this makes the lag go away you can try out symbolic linking (depends on if you use XP or Vista, search the forum for it) by 'replicating' the wow/data folder, so each file gets loaded from the same physical spot on the harddrive, less lag

I was actually running them all from one folder.

Now I started running two folders of wow setting affinity through config instead of keyclone. I have one folder for my main and set to 5 (core 1&3) and my 4 alts on 10 (core2&4) as suggested elsewhere.

My main is now running a bit better...up to 30fps but my alts are struggling to even hit 15fps which is the maxfpsbk I have set (fluctuating from 10-14 while in background).

I am going to try a few more things when I get home. Any suggestions would be welcome

I'm guessing it has something to do with Vista 64 running wow in emulation, could be wrong.

I have almost the same setup as you but with vista 32, a raid 0 of 2x7200 rpm hard drives. 2 wow folders but with a data & cache link to the fist wow folder. max fps of 15 on the alts running at 60 fps on the main. CPU affinity in keyclone set to none on the main, 2 for 2 of them and 3 for the other 2, no cpu setting in the cfg. Set my alts to medium graphics :

    /console groundEffectDensity 136
    /console groundEffectDist 70
    /console horizonfarclip 3765
    /console farclip 477
    /console characterAmbient 1
    /console smallcull 1
    /console skycloudlod 2
    /console detailDoodadAlpha 1

I'd hate to think I'd have to go back to vista32 to get better fps. Can anyone out there running a q6600 under vista64 post their FPS and setups? would be appreciated.
