    Default Distance on follow

HI all, i am not sure if this has been discussed but....when on follow my alts seem to be really far back. i find this rather annoying as a warlock group esp in pvp. by the time my alts have caught up its usually to late to be effective. Has blizz made changes to follow? all the vids i see it seems (to me anyway) that the alts are usually only 10-15 yards behind.

    any ideas?

    It's latency.

If you look at your alt screens, they'll appear to be closer to your main than they do on your main's screen.

Whenever you move, that gets sent to the server. It then gets sent to everyone else's clients (including your alts) so they can update their displays.

If they're on follow, they then move and tell the server. Which then tells everyone else (including your main).

What you're seeing is the time it takes to send all those messages and process them.

    So you're stuck with it.

Hi mate. It is lateny, try to stop alittle bit before you move into an enemy and let them catch up before you move the last feet in for the nuke. You will see later in Arena that this problem is more or less gone as of the little latency in there. In BGs and in the world you will have to deal with it as it is.

If you get trubble in major citys that one fall behind (stop follow) then startt to mount your alts but not your main. that usaly sole problems like that... Like i would mount my alts and go travol or ghost wolf form on my main druid or shammy due to who i use atm.

Ye I experience the exact same thing, just have to stop for like 0.5sec with your main sometimes so they don't fall behind.

Thanks guys for the responses. as i suspected latency is the issue. i might just bite the bullet and get leopard installed on my mac and boot camp AOC...aussie servers and all that.

i am tried of three years of " you must be behind your target" or your target is not in range...though they are adding all sorts of blue and purple to my arse!
