great thread mate keep up the good work!

I myself will make all my 5 locks demo till 70 so easier mob control
Honestly, in my opinion, the spec you choose is dependent on what you want to do.

    -= Instances =-
    • Demonology, i don't feel this is the way to go for instances. Sure your pets can tank/dps/cc better, but at the end your always going to pull aggro and your pets are always going to die every pull.
    • Affliction damage is too slow for instances, you can't drain tank because a couple of crits against you means your dead. Fear bombing has limited uses, it's really the only way you should be doing trash. It's risky.
    • Destruction is the only one left, you kill before you get kille
    -= Questing =-
    • All talent trees are strong in levelling
    • Demonology is the slowest grind, not because you kill slow, but because it's the least mana efficient
    • Affliction is by far the most mana efficient and you'll get more kills per minute than any other spec and die least often. Drain tanking, dot + fear bombing = uber
    • Destruction, 1 shot kills, mana efficient, gets tricky when there are large groups of mobs (large groups being 4+)
    -= PVP =-
    • I tried all 3 trees for pvp, hard to say which i think is best.
    • 1 vs 5(us) destruction is really good - Hellfire w/ stuns is really really evil
    • Lots vs 5(us) affliction is really good - I'd recommend this one for pvp, just for the mobility and the mass amounts of damage you can deal to a lot of ppl
    • 2 vs 5(us) demonology was really strong, the pets take care of 1 person while u deal with the other
    -= Raids =-
    not there yet, i'll tell u when i'm 70.
I'm pretty sure it'll be a Demo Sacrifice + Ruin build.
Because 5 imps are useless and they're basically the only pets you can safely bring to a raid.

Great post, very informative. I've just started 2 priests and 2 locks to join my 70 lock... final team with be 2 shadow priests 3 warlocks. I'm mostly interested in PVP but will probably do some PVE as well.

Any ideas on rotating the specs between the warlocks in PVP? I'm thinking something like this for the 3 locks at 70:

    1. UA spec, grabbing 5/5 shadow embrace to reduce physical damage by 5%, and malediction for the 3% curse of shadow increase
    2. SL/SL spec with shadow mastery
    3. Felguard (for the intercept and good physical damage)

Essentially I want to maximize the amount of debuffs and effects I can get from having different specs. I'm thinking each warlock would cast a different curse on hotkey (1 curse of agony, 1 curse of shadows, 1 curse of tongues or exhaustion). Lot of debuffs going on there.

I'm anxious to see how nasty it's going to be with curse of shadows, misery, and shadow weaving on a target with 5 casters doing shadow damage

I was originally 4-boxing hunters, but recently switched to warlocks as my most recent main is a 'lock.

All 4 are level 26 and I'm absolutely loving it. My spec is a hodgepodge of stuff because I'm erratic and twitchy like that, but I get the impression I'll be heavily destro based. I find thatrunning around with 2vws to tank/offtank and 2 imps is just ridiculous. Firing 4 shadowbolts at most things usually finishes em off by the time the imps and VWs have also gotten a hit in. I've rarely come accross any situations where I pull aggro from anything and it doesn't die before it reaches me. I've even been able to go after camps of 8+ mobs, all equal or slightly higher level, and only lose 1 VW.

I haven't tried any instances yet... and I know that I should, but I've never had much experience with them and I'm leary of doing poorly and wasting my time, considering how fast I'm leveling qith quests.

It helps that I had over 5k gold from my main to fund my group. And additionally, I'm going engineering with all of them because I want to have all 4 of them with the engineering flying machines for maximum hilariousness.

I was even attacked by a skull in Redridge at level 19... I'd say he was probably 35, judging by his gear, and with good use of fear/dots/Sbolts and everyone being soulstoned I completely destroyed him. I'm really liking the setup.
