Default [WoW]Any tips for instance boosting with a 'lock?

    Here's my 'lock

I was wondering how people did instance boosting with 'locks. Pets? Builds? Tactics?

Do you just round everything up with the Voidwalker and then Hellfire everything down or is there more finesse to it than that?

i can you say wha i have read.

just collect the mobs with your void and then seed some mobs ... boom .. all down ...

just look after your pets life ...

i didn´t do this by my self yet .. because i havent a high lvl warlock. but this is what i would try.

ps. i think hellfire is very difficult .. because the mobs beat the hell out of you and the hellfire drains life ... so .. i think bad idea

Doh! I forgot all about SoC! I really should log my 'lock on once in a while. I'm sooooo rusty with it

For the lower level dungeons like SM I usually just run around dotting everything and letting my felguard beat on stuff.

Well affliction is really nice just put siphon life on all mobs that way life tap and go on and if there arent to many mobs u can do siphon life and corruption, and nightfall will procc allot then so nice burst dmg and life tap all you whant because siphon life is on. deppends what you whant tbh yes you can go with ur voidwalker and taunt every mob then aoe taunt and then soc the hell out of them.

anyone got any links to specs that are good for boosting as a lock ?

I am thinking of boosting my priest up to 70.. to dualbox with my 70 lock.. and then opposite way round for my warrior.. priest to boost him

seems alot less effort than dual box questing all the way to 70..

I'll have to give this a go. What level of instances do you think are soloable given the gear I have?

maz, no offense but yer crit is absolutely terribad. that being said, u have a gear setup made for either deep demo felguard or afflction. and since u have a crapton of hp and a good median of spell damage i would recommend 40/21/0 for boosting. at least at lower levels. do what shini and dagre said. literally run in and put AT LEAST siphon life on everything, corruption would be great too, that way u get plenty of life back and they will most certainyl die.

another option is to utilize the mitigation of a demo build. u take less damage if u do pull aggro, and yer stamina/mana/damage goes up according to yer pets stats. for boosting in instances though, felguard is a failure unless u do small pulls. with a VW u can literally pull about 20 guys, seed 5 of em and watch them suffer, felguard u could prolly get 5-10 going before u need to heal the pet.

my personal choice, and somethign that yer gear doesnt allow for due to low crit, is pvp fire/shadow. this is */*/44+. this way u get more crit(though yers will still be low), when u get hit u have a chance to get an instant damage spell, and shadowfury. shadowfury is a great talent, not for raiding, but it is THE best way of proccing all of yer seed of corruptions at once. i send my VW in gather up 20 guys or so, seed 4 of em then immediately shadowfury, if they dont all die from the seed, the shadowfury is the little extra oomph they need to die. outstanding good fun.

links to the builds i said in order:

these are just a few examples, in the demo spec the VW really pops! both of u take 10% less physical damage, which combined with demonic resilience is 25% less damage to yer pet!! very handy! and yes u can get a felguard if u like, they are very fun.

anyways, my experience with lock boosting only applies to SM thru ST. in strat i failed miserably, i do not know if it is because i was undergeared at the time, they hit too hard for a lock, or my spec was wrong i cannot be sure. tbh itd be best if u had a mage or a RL friend with a mage, i got a mage friend and its handy lol. hope this helped

I had done this little attempt at a guide a little while back, and have such in time, perfected the timing. But here is a little taste of how my Aff lock ran the Armory in SM, which is basically the same way I ran Cath and other Dungeons. ( know, I need to revamp the "Guide")

I have not been on my lock in a while, or else I would post his Armory, but I had 1K+ in Spell damage, so my ticks are going to be higher than yours.
