well i hate to post this, as it might be an exploit and i do love this little bug. i havent done it on my multibox shamans cuz they arent 70 yet, but when im soloing with a group in normal and heroic MgT, we stand under the candlesticks in front of him. doing so doesnt allow u to use bloodlust which sux, but as soon as u hit an add and it dies, u get big then instantly shrink back down and the debuff is gone. this is because blizzards mechanics dont allow u to get bigger and (i dont know the word) "clip" into a piece of gemoetry. u can try this it works everytime
I've not been back in to MgT since the latest patch, but haven't they 'fixed' this 'clever use of game mechanics' to stop it happening?

I remember reading about it and that it would be not possible anymore, but im not sure.

I'd love to farm this instances since the rep items are nice, and well also heroic would be nice gear hear and there (trinkerts, shields). But indeed that vexallus stops me from doing that . But earth ellies would be the solution? And all dps chain heal them, or (running 3x ele 1x rest + prot pally)

It's taken me so many attempts and literally hundreds of gold in repairs to get this guy on farm (normal mode... haven't managed to drop Kael yet to unlock heroic... (sad panda)

    general setup:
    prot pali + 4 sham
spell damage sitting at around 550 or so on each sham, all ele.
no arcane resist gear on any (though having used potions, it does make a HUGE difference).

    Pop bloodlust
Start out the fight like a normal tank and spank, all out aggro building on the pali - some healing but no nuking on the sham.
Pure energy spawns - run over and whack it with the pali
start light dps, keep pali topped off.
Pure Energy 2 spawns - run over and whack it with the pali
    bloodlust 2
Start unloading DPS while keeping tank topped off
Pure Energy 3 will spawn right quick, i try to get this one with a shock, but if that fails a judge of righteousness works
AT this point the fight is pretty hectic... damage on the tank gets nasty with dots stacked so I pretty much run a Lesser healing wavex4, LB,heal,LB LB, heal type rotation.
    bloodlust if needed
at 30~ish percent I stomp 4 fire eles and focus on keeping the paladin up
at 15% I start casting my group-hug chain heal (chain heal next party memeber key) which pretty much continues through the overload
loot and curse the silly loot table on such a frustrating encounter (and sometimes res the paladin since hes all stacked up with arcane DoT of doom)

i see no notes about the bug being fixed in the patch notes, and we still use this bug, we used it maybe a week or two ago, so it still works. but they could have snuck in a hotfix
Deepanalysis, Baadtouch, Captslow 3 x frost mages. trying to restore my mana and perhaps some frost faith

Pali can drop the debuff by using there bubble just kill it quick to keep aggro.

    just macro :
    /cast Divine Shield
    /cancelaura Divine Shield

People who wipe on this guy are are trying to kill him fast, the faster yeh go the more damage yeh take.
Those orbs do damage if yeh dont kill em and they debuff yeh that does damage, more debuffs yeh get the more it hurts.
The debuff drops off in 30 seconds unless yeh get another debuff.

Slow down and wait for the debuff to drop first.

Once yeh get em to down to 10-15% then go balls to the wall with the dps :P

I figured this guy out yesterday. The advice on here all helped, but the biggest thing is to just get out there and do him. The first few times i killed him, i wiped at least 3 times per kill.

    Here's what i learned...

like what everyone said, slow-and-steady is the winner. Although don't waste any time once the debuff falls off, to start dps and spawn the next pure energy. The boss himself hits relatively hard, and if you let it draw on too long, your healer will run oom. I let my paladin kill the first couple sparks, then wait 30 seconds for debuff to fall off. Then kill the next 2, then let debuff fall off. When my priest was getting low on mana (typically 30-40%) i popped all 3 elementals, bloodlust, and took down the rest of the boss's hp in like 10-20 seconds.

One of the main problems with this boss is the dmg boost the debuff gives to your DPSers. When they have that buff it's easy for them to kill the next energy spark and get 2 debuffs, effectively making them impossible to heal in addition to your tank. One trick i do is just watch my Dpsers and when the first one gets the debuff, turn him around so he can't dps anything. The next spark that comes out will die to another toon. Once you have two debuffs you might just want to hold off on dps to let the debuffs leave. With practice, you can time it so all your dps have 1 debuff each , then when the boss goes crazy just turn thema ll around and level the boss instantly.

When you do the slow and steady approach, and let all the debuffs wear off, that last little bit of hp is hard to take down before he kills everyone with his exploding AOE since your DPS isn't jacked up with the energy debuff.

Use slow and steady for the first few energy adds, then the last 3 use the 'turn the toon with the debuff around' approach until all 3 toons have it then face the boss and level him.

I run a similar setup which is pally tank - priest - 3x mage, with pretty bad gear, and I could easily take him down by killing all adds with my tank. That way, you don't have to spread healing and it's much easier to just spamheal 1 target.
