    Default Captn's Setup and Log

    Hi all,

    this is my rig:

After getting a number of questions in game, I decided to start taking notes.
Notes with pictures, many pictures in fact: http://captn-log.blogspot.com/

    Cheers, Steph.

Very nice how long did it takes your eyes to adjust?

In example it was an exercise for me when I had 3 spanning, and took about a week for my eyes

I think we play differently Ellay.

I allways look at the primary screen, with the exception of moving stuff in the inventory or when looting. I use x-perl unit frames, which gives me casting bars for all characters. That is a great help to see what is going on.

The nice thing about using notebooks is that each comes with its own compact keyboard and touchpad, so you have individual controls at hand without much space wasted.

Right, I got sufficiently fed up with having notebooks in my way and yet out of sight to do something about it today. Above you can still see what my original situation was, here is the new one:

You can find a bit more on what I did and why here:

Nicely Improved Steph, have you considered doing what TheITMonkey did to his laptops?

I take notebooks apart quite frequently, so I thought of putting three notebook displays with the mainboard and a few necessary ports in an aluminum frame above the normal TFTs. But then, thats a lot of work and much less flexible than being able to just pick up a notebook and put it on the shelf.

ITmonkey's display flip is nice, but does not quite work out with all chassis and display harnesses. Plus - its work =]

    ?

I spent 6 months on my setup. I don't want to hear *any* whining about how long it takes to get a 5 box setup. Especially now with allllll of the resources available here and the new programs, advances in hardware, etc.

I used to box uphill both ways, in the snow. And we liked it.
