Leveling gear?

I am working on 4 mages and a priest, do I need to bother with gear while levling to 70? How important is this pre 70 while leveling?

I am just level 22 now, but all I have been equipping is the quest gear I get. I was thinking for laughs I might just level them in tuxedos or heck, maybe even nakid. :lol:

I read somewhere someone didn't even bother repairing their gear while leveling? Is this true?

depends on your class, warlock team might not even bother to repair, others - preferable


also there is no need to gather gear since you will change it in a few levels

You can probably avoid it but it helps having more int/sta. Since I do most of my grinds in instances I gear my toons with the blues. Right now my 40s locks are wearing the SM gear. I usually pick the instances that have best drops for my classes and do those.

If you're doing 4 mages and a priest, I assume you're not going to be doing instances? Most pre-BC doesn't have much +spell damage on it, so all you're doing really is increasing your mana and HP pool, in other words reducing down time. Since you're 5-boxing you shouldnt have any problem cruising through in quest reward gear. You might even want to spend some cash getting good BOE's for your priest if you feel like it.

You can always make one or more of your toons a tailor to make gear as well.

It is even more irrelevant because all of my gear has been red since I was level 1 or so.

I don't loot anything but bosses and I don't repair anything really.

No point at under level 60.

From what I understand, once your gear is at zero durability, it's basically like wearing no armor. :lol:

I will continue just equipping quest gear until I get them all a set of tuxes. Its amazing how crappy the quest rewards are.

28-29 lvl, have just cleared RFK (33 lvl bosses) with full red gear.
