How good do you have to be to earn arena points?

I'm thinking of 2boxing my warrior/druid in the arena. I could care less about rating, I just want to pick up some Merciless weapons =)

So, assuming I lose most of my matches, will it take forever to pick up the necessary points?

well weapons cost alot... and you need high rating for alot of points so it will take alot of time untill u get ur weapons

Say you have a 2v2 rating of 1300 (which is about rock-bottom.) You'll get 180 points per week. At 3750 points for a 2h, it'll take you 21 weeks (little over 5 months) to get that weapon.

Of course you'll start out at 1500 (225 points) and go down from there, so it'll probably shave off a couple weeks.

Also don't forget that 2v2 only gets 60% of the total points, so you'd be getting 300 points per week at 1300 rating in a 5v5. That's only 12 weeks for the 2h'er. 3v3 gives 80%, so it's worth finding one more person to do 3v3s instead of a 2v2.

My 5 man team is ranking 977, so 1300 is far fromrock bottom :twisted:

Also, after u break 1000 threshold, you have to do some dmg on the opposing team or you dont get credit for being in that arena match. This was the end of the charge and /dance and get slaughtered technique. I actually have to do some damage now!

If you have the money to burn just remake your team when you hit 1300ish and start fresh at 1500. More points!

Hehe that's an option too. Unfortunately, I burn all the money I make from clearing instances in mana pots, elixirs, and flasks, food (MP5), liquor (for HP too), and weapon enchant for our 25 man raids

18 Gold repairs for a clother is not kewl. I can't imagine the ~40 gold repairs for our plate members :twisted: 5 stacks of candles is another added cost.
