    hey freddie

I am hoping you have some suggestions for me. Currently I am running AoC on 1 pc, across 2 x 22in widescreen monitors.
I have tracked down where AoC stores its current screen resolution preferences. The game automatically changes this to the last resolution used.

    C:\Documents and Settings\Timmyb\Local Settings\Application Data\Funcom\Conan\Prefs\Prefs_2.xml

    under this line here ... <Value name="DisplayResolution" value="IPoint(1680,1050)" />

However, I have to manually change this value every time I load up for the 2 different screen resolutions.
    Process entails...
    - load aoc1 to the char login screen (1680x1050)
    - edit the prefs_2.xml file <Value name="DisplayResolution" value="IPoint(840,1050)" />
    - load aoc2 and aoc3 to the login screen (840x1050)

This works fine till one of the client crashes and I need to do it all over again.

    So... the question is ...
Is there a way to have this automatically changed when using hotkeynet ?

PS . changing the prefs file fixes the UI not rescaling issue, everything looks as it should.
PSS . Apart from this one problem, the 3 accounts are working damn nicely.

    Woot. Glad to hear it.

Excellent. And grats on finding the info. I looked for it myself and missed it.

No but it could be added. But I'm wondering something. You wrote:

I have only one AoC account but I made two toons, and they have separate Prefs_2.xml files in separate folders. Are you sure you can't have separate settings for each toon or each account?

I had tried this, it does attempt to resize the window, as you are loading in your character, but once loaded it reverts back to the standard size from the first prefs2 file.
    - loading screen starts in 1680x1050
    - middle of loading, client changes res to 840x1050
    - end of loading bar, client changes res back to 1680x1050

    thanks mate

Let me think about the best way to handle this with HKN.

In the meantime I think you can do this with batch files written in Windows's command language. For each desired screen resolution, you'd make a spare copy of the xml file and a little batch file that does two things:

    1. Copies the xml file with the desired resolutions over the xml file that AoC uses.
    2. Starts AoC.

Then you could make a desktop icon to start the batch file.

Currently I have a folder on my desktop with AoC client shortcuts, prefs2.xml shortcut and hotkeynet shortcut. I am not sure what or how often this prefs2 file is changed by the game itself. I am not really sure how to do that with .bat file
