Thread: Hardest Heroic?

    Default Hardest Heroic?

despite an lot of new multiboxers starting to hit heroics latley and wanting to know where to farm badges I thought I throw Fursphere a bone and try to drum up a topic for a few mutilboxers who's 'been there and done that' I've completed every heroic instance except for Mag ter and Auchenai Crypts and thought I'd ask, what have you encountered that you know you can't multibox? I suspect that blizz will be using some interesting mechanics in the 5 mans dungeons for the net expansion and it might get harder and harder for us to solo them, but what have you fellow boxers did that you know you can't complete?

Individual tasks like operating multiple leavers simultaneously, with movement included might give us problems. Example: What if the gnomeregan final boss became immune to all damage when one of the pipes start popping bombs, and you couldn't preposition your ranged dps without aggroing.

Bosses that hit insanely hard/slow and/or dispels earth elementals/totems will give the shammy teams problems. Example: 2nd boss in slavepens with half his attack speed and twice the damage.

Thrash packs with multiple aoe mobs, which needs tank separation (think raid mechanics Leotheras Demonform, Illidan Demonform for example) will cause problems. Blizzard is trying to implement tanking across different classes, even in the 5-man content. Smart players will realize that some mobs are clearly designed to be tanked by ranged classes, but most pug's will tank with plate only. MGT is a great example on this, tanking warlocks with warlocks for example is optimal, still...most platetanks will go and taunt the warlock anyway.

The mechanics of the Vexallus heroic fight in MGT is on the borderline of what we're capable of in PVE. What if Vexallus had twice the hitpoints he has, and maybe hit slightly weaker, and the dot from the adds were weaker as well, but he spawned 4 adds instead of 2. A normal, well-organized group would probably have no problems, a boxer would probably hit a wall.

Can think of more, but I don't have time right now. And btw I'm talking about soloing instances here (5-boxing), since that's what I do personally. I'm sure alot of those who 4box with a friend tanking/healing, or 3box with 2 buddies helping have very different views.

MgT with 5 shamans up to 1st boss, was actually a bit easier than I thought it was going to be... I would consider the 1st boss to be an easy badge, now mind you I had to pop heroism on the trash pulls to kill before being killed. I usually took out the mage guards first, any melee then casters, and definitely make sure you're grounding totems are refreshed at all times. Haven't tried any further than the first boss.

First boss of Mgt HC is a great way to get mainhands if you dont feel like grinding rep or honor.
I farmed him everyday for 14 days with my 4 shammies to get it. IMO 20mins *14 is better than countless hours of rep grind.
    Mulitboxing four shamen.

So true - been trying to do that for my last guy but all I'm getting is epic plate shoulders.

Have you tried any of the other bosses?

Yes it will be very interesting to see how the next expansion instances will turnout, but you have to realize mgt was releashed just now and most ppl are well equipped at their 70s at the momment, in other words they needed to release a challenging instance. But I kinda doubt they will design they game just to make it harder for boxer in specifc, however ofc I think there will be instances in the next expansion that are almost impossible for boxers to takle.

Also, there might be class changes that will count into this aswell, it seems a group of 5 shammies are in generally doing better then a pve setup group, 1 tank, healer, 3 dps which I currently have, atleast this is the feeling im getting after reading most of the posts here.
