Default Ding 80! And a warm welcome from Blizzard!

Yay me, so I finaly got to 80 in WoW after not having played since AQ40 was hot back in the original. And Blizzard was even so kind as to welcome me back by banning my account for online trading not even 24 hours after I dinged. I assume, for trading about 4k gold around to be able to buy my spells from level 75 to 80. D'OH!

I guess this system is automatic, but, and here comes the real point of this thread. Why in the world would they have a system like this in place, if it only hurts legit players, I assume the gold sellers ect. actualy learn where the "magical" mark is and dont repeat. So why on earth would they even have a system like that, dont regular players ever lend each other gold? I wonder how many man hours Blizzard have wasted because of this, and if it's even had any measurable effect on the gold sellers at all.

    PS.
Sorry but had to get it off my chest.

I really dont think this is automatic..i've traded tons of gold, without anything happening. Only trough my own accounts, but 5000g to other players without anything in return? Yes, that to.

Because it's totally feasible to have a bank of employees monitoring trade/gold logs of MILLIONS of subscribers to manually ban someone for moving too much gold around.

    My thoughts excatly.
I actualy found it abit funny that they had a line saying something like "Investigation completed", what? They checked that all accounts had the excat same details and therefor figured I must be selling the gold to myself! If it wernt for the paypal charges I would be rich I tells you, I farm so much gold that I can buy it's insane. Especialy since I leveled my shaman to 80 cause we all know how they are the big gold farmers! Next up is a holy priest for the mad AOE gold farming! Yay!

I'm the money maven between my husband and myself. When my husband was ready to buy his epic flight and all that, I made a point to send in a ticket saying "Hey! I'm a multiboxer. So is my husband. This week I will be giving a total of X gold from my bank toon on AccountA to my other accounts {B, C, D, E} and to my husband's accounts {F, G, H, I, J} so we can buy our epic flying. Please put a note in our accounts to mark us as multiboxers, not goldsellers. Thanks!" They responded that they logged a note in the accounts and I never heard a peep about the 50K that got traded between our accounts.

I usually request that they note that I'm a multiboxer whenever I start new accounts or in a new game...at worst other GMs ignore the note {in which case I can write an angry e-mail saying "L2Read, NEWB!"} at best they see it and don't have to waste time investigating/bothering me.

I smell something fishy. I've traded >10k gold multiple times among my 3 80 team members for mounts and such, so 4k isn't worth quibbling over. It wasn't the 4k gold.
    Now playing: WoW (Garona)

hmm i traded 15k gold a few weeks ago from my auctioneer char to another char on a different account. Through the mail system. Nothing no ban there. I guess you had some bad luck. Or im already marked as a multi-boxer i guess. Been doing it from S2 so i guess thats probably the case.

    /EDIT
They might have check't you're chat logs then. You probably got reported for a comment like that so. Anything you say or do in-game is logged.
And sometimes it can be hard to see the (ironic) side of a text on the internet's.

If it wasnt the 4k gold, theres only two other possibilities which I find highly unlikely :
1.) Someone hacked my account, unlikely but not out of the realm of possibilities.
    2) I made a jest in AV that ofcourse I was going to sell my accounts on Ebay because I dont make more then the minimum wage of china so that would be HUGE money for me! If anyone takes that serious I dont know. Again unlikely but not impossible, and I doubt anyone would get banned for that?

Hehe, yeah I know, and I shouldnt have made that comment, but it was bleeding obevious that it was ironic. But I'll just wait and see, I'm sure it should be no problem to get it unbanned it's just inconvenient
