Thread: 5 Box MC?

i attempted 5man Onyxia and here is my experience
Group: 1 t4/5 prot warr 4 elemental shamans.

Phase 1, flawless not a problem in the world, everything went to plan needed heals but not too many.
Phase 2, "The oh fuck phase".
The issues i found with phase 2 wasnt the welps so much, it was the fireballs she drops, I was chain healing through them but i was finding mana was a big issue, i wiped at 75%.
Even with FR totem down it was still doing too much damage, to the whole group, without being spread out it was a real problem.

I lated on 8 manned it with a independent tank and healer and lock and everything went much better, however the mana issues where massive too many pots to drink and there was a couple of times where only the warlock was able to DPS because i was just oom.
I was doing it in pvp gear because its the only real set i have at the moment.

    Theres my wrapup.

I tried both Ony and MC with 5 shamans.

Ony: Phase 2 is problematic to say the least, the fireballs still do a lot of dmg, might be doable with the heroic badge fire resist gear?

MC: Made it all the way to Lucifron and Gehennas, the hound packs at Luci are quite difficult to kill all at the same time before the bites stack up on all your guys. You can pull Luci without clearing any of them if you are careful but not being able to decurse almost guarantees failure (same with Gehennas - you just cant heal through the 75% less healing curse he puts on). Got two BOE epic rogue belts and hunter belt, so that was pretty cool

I haven't seen half of the Old-world content...and I've played since closed beta.

It's my main reason for picking up 5-boxing.
That was also my reason why I started. 8o

Time to go through Outlands.

We 10manned MC at 70 in DA...it took so long to kill Garr that the corehounds around him respawned on us TWICE. Trash doesn't scale in Raids but the Bosses do; Garr was lv Skull to our 70s, aka +3 to highest raid member, aka 73, scaling his HP appropriately, and damage somewhat-appropriately; we did have to keep the tank healed but it wasn't the same "relative" damage it was at 60.

It would be POSSIBLE but it would take forever and the Pala's mana/hp battery seals would be an absolute necessity for the raid, possibly an spriest too. You'd kinda want a decurser around too if some of them do land on you and they probably will...and if you want to fight rag obviously you'll need a 2nd group to douse enough Runes, assuming you have the Quintessences in the first place, which requires semi-clears to get as well..lol
WoW really? I've read 70 Prot Warriors able to solo Garr due to stacking Block Value gear. A prot warrior can go in there using Invis Pots, and stopping/killing patrols in key spots. Last I read, a solo Prot Warrior got Garr from zone in to kill in about 6 hours.
