    Default Working with Ubuntu?

    I'm thinking of playing around with Ubuntu / WINE and all that for my normal OS. I'm wondering if anyone else has tried dualboxing with keyclone using Ubuntu / Wine and the success / failure stories they may have.

    Just loaded up a trial account along with the main and got it working with autohotkey using winehq version of wine. Not sure about keyclone, don't want to spend the cash and have it not work.

    Running Ubuntu 64 bit

    My other difficulties are getting both of my monitors to work in Ubuntu. Right now, I put in the "boot from CD" version and it's only showing the same on each monitor. I'm assuming (hoping) that if/when I install it fully, that I'll be able to spread my desktop like I do in Windows.

    The main interest I have in doing this is obviously to replace my OS. The most demanding thing I do is dual boxing 2 accounts with WoW. Right now I'm using Vista 64 and I have another computer that's using XP. Oddly enough, it's the XP computer that's having problems (but that's because it's sorta dieing) and I'm thinking of just putting Ubuntu on it since it's not used for much more then an email / internet machine.

    Been running Keyclone quite successfully with Kubuntu. The only issue I've had has been with the setup menu, which works less than perfectly under wine. Its doable, but you need to mess around for 10 secs first to have it show properly. I'll give a detailed description if you want one ;D

    @Fursphere:
    I've never noticed that, having run WoW with Wine for about as long as the game has been out. I haven't multiboxed in Outland yet, though, so I can't really make any statement regarding that. I'm intrigued though. When did you experience this, what hardware are you running on, and did you try to mess around with the Video settings etc?

    I am very interested myself. I am wanting to get it set up. I run Ubuntu 8.04 and cxgames, but it is based on wine... I get better fps than in windows actually...

    I ran WoW (and multiboxing) in Ubuntu 7.10 (for 5 months or so) until I got my new PC. I'm not really happy with Windows XP 64bit at the moment because of performance issues with dual screen that can't be resolved(XP problem, solved in Vista but I don't want Vista ever again), so I'm considering Ubuntu again.
    You can find my write-up at http://www.dual-boxing.com/wiki/index.php/Linux

    I had the same keyclone GUI problems in Ubuntu as mentioned above.

    WOW worked beautifly with Ubuntu for me, but I couldn't get Ventrilo to work. There are probably solutions out there, I just didnt waste time to look too hard.

    Running WoW on a Compiz Cube was pretty funny & made for good screenshots (Not usefull, but cool looking eye candy).
