Default Horde Questing with Joana's Guide

Using Joana's guide (if you don't have it I highly recommend it) to level my 5 Priests, I decided to go ahead and try just about everything to get an idea of what worked and what wouldn't for 5 boxers. This is more just a "what not to do in the guide if you are a 5 boxer" guide, not a copy/paste of Joana's guide. It is focused on the collection quests.

    Barrens 12-15:

Plainstrider Menace - Worth doing, lots of plainstriders around. Do it!

Raptor Thieves - Dad drop rate. Skip it!

Fungal Spores - Slow respawn, but you can grind on centaurs while you're doing this. Do it!

Supplies for the Crossroads - Worth doing as you're doing "The Disruption Ends". There are boxes all over in that area, especially around the huts. Slow respawn though, don't wait on them...keep killing and check back for them later. Do it!

Raptor Horns - I did this, and my God how I regretted it. Not worth it unless you enjoy grinding on slow spawning raptors. Skip it!

The Zhevra - Not a bad drop rate on these, and there are lots of Zhevra around...do it!

Centaur Bracers - Very slow drop rate. I tried it and ended up dropping it. Skip it!

Harpy Raiders - A good grinding area with lots of targets. Not a great drop rate, but the amount of harpies make up for it. Do it!

    Stonetalon Mountains 15-16:

Do them all in the guide. I didn't get a level here, but easy quests.

    Barrens 16-20:

Prowlers of the Barrens - Lots of these guys around. Do it!

Harpy Lieutenants - Lots of slayers and good grinding to get there. Do it!

Altered Beings - This one is easy, but doesn't respawn very quickly. Go kill turtles, then do "Angry Scytheclaws", then back to turtles, then "Tribes at War", then go finish turtles (took my 3 rounds for 5 guys). These are all in the same general area, not bad to do. Do it!

Consumed by Hatred - 60 each is a lot, but with all of the guys that you have to grind you get them pretty quick (and they drop in multiples). Do it!

    Stonetalon 20-21:

Deepmoss Spider Eggs - Not bad, but a slow respawn if you are doing them over by Windshear Crag. I'd suggest grabbing them all, then killing a few goblins for "Goblin Invaders" then grabbing more eggs. Do it!

Boulderslide Ravine - This one appears rough at first, but luckily the crystals spawn super fast. Go into the cave and clear the mobs up to the first intersection in the path. Clear the mobs to the left and right of the intersection and then just run this area and you'll be able to get 40 pretty quickly. When you're ready to get your last guy's go ahead and clear deeper into the cave collecting them until you pop the "explored" part of the quest. Fight your way out and you're done. Do it!

    Ashenvale 21-22:

Naga at the Zoram Strand - It's a lot of stuff to collect, but there are a bunch of naga right outside town that are good to grind on. Do it!

    Southern Barrens 22-23:

Egg Hunt - This one was a bit of a pain because of the sheer number of crap you have to kill to clear an area to pick up 1-3 of the eggs, but it was steady with a bunch of camps where the eggs spawn. Do it!

Weapons of Choice - Grind grind grind...you'll get all of the weapons eventually, but the drop rates are annoying. Do it!

    Stonetalon 23-25:

Cycle of Rebirth - Little acorns on the ground all around the lake north of Sun Rock....easy to do, just takes a few minutes to get them all (basically around 6 loops around the lake if you have no one else picking them up). Do it!.

Elemental War - Way too few fire elementals in the charred vale to do this x5. Skip it!

    Southern Barrens 25-25:

Enraged Thunder Lizards - Pretty easy given the amount of these wandering around near Camp T. Do it!

Revenge of Gann - Semi painful...a lot of stuff to collect, but mobs have a chance of dropping multiples of each per kill. Do it!

    Thousand Needles 25-26:

Alien Egg - If you head east of Freewind Post where the road meets the southern wall of the zone there will be an egg to the south (right). Grab this and then cross the road going north and there's another over there. These spawned much faster than I remember in the past. Do it!

    Ashenvale 26-27:

Warsong Supplies - easily doable...Joana says not to do it, but if you have the cash or the ability to make the gun then go ahead. You'll get 2 of the pieces doing other quests anyway.

Troll Charm - fun to do while grinding in the cave. Look for the little chests. When I was down to my last guy that needed these I killed my way down to the bottom and did the escort quest for the bear (make sure and finish the charms before you start it..you wont have time to get more without going a long ways back into the cave). These are also the guys you'll get the rope off of for Warsong Supplies, so loot them with everyone.

Satyr Horns - Wow....this one is one of the harder grinds I've done. The demons spawn semi quick and aren't hard to kill (the imp pets are annoying and the rogues tend to add when you arent expecting). This is also the area you'll get the Warsong Oil at (if you are killing the demons right near the road then the Xaivian Camp up the hill is the best place to get the oil...higher level demons up there, so beware).

Lost Pages - Skip it....unless you want to buy and spend a lot of time compiling this its not worth the time for 5.

    Thousand Needles 27-29:

Wind Rider - Fun area to grind it and the eggs spawn very fast....do it!

Test of Endurance - Piece of cake with 5....Joana says not to do it, but I had no problems.

    30ish - SALT FLATS.

    SKIP THIS ENTIRE AREA.

The car parts collection (get 30 of each part) and the buzzards and scorpion parts collection quests are a WASTE of time. The exp is only about 1500 to 2000 per turnin and you can spend 6 - 8 hours getting all of the parts.

Skip it completely. Do an instance, anything else.
    The Zins - 10 Boxing
    Xzin, Azin, Bzin, Czin, Dzin
    Xyzin, Ayzin, Byzin, Cyzin, Dyzin
    Magtheridon - US

nice right up and I agree, it all depends though if you don't mind all the looting. I personally find it too tedious and don't do any collection quests except the kill so and so and loot his head type ones. I find it more efficient to just grind.

I prefer grinding also, but with a lot of these collection quests (harpies for instance) you are basically grinding and looting and you get a bigger payoff in the end by turning in the quest. I know I grinded a level+ on those damn raptors up by the harpies trying to get raptor horns, so it's definitely still a grind.

In general, I'll agree with these suggestions.

One exception to this rule: if you want exalted with another faction to get their epic land mount instead of yours. I wanted the kodo mounts for my undead instead of the horses, so I did all the quests I could find on wowhead that gave TB rep. Some were boring and most were gray to me by this time (38ish) but it worked like a champ.

All depends on how much time you're willing to spend on fluff.

ill try to add some nice grinding spots which i've encountered on alliance side (and nice means quiet and lots of quick spawns)
