Planning on getting a foot pedal

I'm thinking about getting a foot pedal. Was reading the forums and see that x-keys does one (http://xkeys.com/xkeys/xkfoot.php) and this other site http://www.kinesis-ergo.com/foot.htm.

- I was wondering if anyone else where using foot pedals
- Are they useful
- How many pedals should i get (1, 2, 3, 4, ... etc)
- What is a good one to get (I know a lot people love x-keys but is there a better foot pedal then x-keys)

Kind of don't want to send more then $200 on it.

Various people have said that the X-Keys one requires a lot of pressure to activate. You might want to avoid that one.

You know i never thought about it like that... I was going to use mine for like shift, alt, and vent... But might be a good idea to make it a strife. Hmmm what about setting up a 6 pedals and have them as qweasd? Or you can have 4 for wasd and turn with mouse. Only bad thing is that i rarely turn with mouse

Kaynin has me thinking now... driving with my feet will free up my hands, but the question is can i train my feet and worse yet when i play for a long period of time will i move my feet at work to try to walk, bad enough when i start typing my left hand goes right the the wasd keys.

Now that Kaynin has me thinking, i was thinking about this:

Get 2 x http://www.kinesis-ergo.com/ with the extra pedal each. Set one extra pedal on one side of the desk (like tape it to the side so you can hit it with your knee) and tape the other extra pedal to the other side of the desk. Have the two 3 set pedals side by side. Think having it this was would make the best sense. Now you have pedals 1-6 on the ground, pedal 7 on left knee and pedal 8 on right knee. Have pedal 1 w and 2 s i did it this way so you don't have to move you left leg too much and drive with your right leg. Then pedal 3 q, 4 e, 5 a and 6 d. Now pedal 7 or 8 can be your tab key (talk about your quick switching targets) and the other can be your interrupt key. I was also think 7 and 8 can be follow and spread out command.

Lol with all this movement you can get a workout from playing wow... Key thing is can your legs, hands, and brain keep up and don't forget about the 4 alts running behind you.

Or am i just crazy here.

Edit: Went on the site to see if Vista can use it and it doesn't list it. I sent and email to them asking if you can use it in vista and if you can program the 2 sets of foot pedal differently. Will let you know what they say.

But I don't use it very much. The buttons are so low that it is hard to reliably hit the correct one. I have to sit upright and keep my feet in a consistnt position, whereas I would preferr to slouch and put them wherever. I might give it a another try when I finally make it to arenas.
