Dual Screens.

I've just got myself a nice new graphics card (GeForce 8800GTS), and am also about to obtain a large monitor. Now I was wondering if it's possible to run a copy of WoW on each monitor? If that's the case then I have a couple of questions:

a) I consider my system spec to be fairly good:
Intel Core 2 Duo 2.0 Ghz
2GB RAM
8800 GTS
Would this be suitable to run two copies of WoW displaying on two different monitors?

b) I don't really consider myself to be particularly good in using keybindings etc and so I was wondering if it would be feasible to simply send the information from mouse and keyboard to both WoW's at once? I was thinking of levelling two mages simultaneously, both the same spec, both in the same gear etc, Would this have the effect of being like I was playing one mage but with twice the dps? I'm not sure if I'm overlooking something here, but at the moment I can't see why not?

Anyway, wanted to say that I've enjoyed lurking here and looking at all your fantastic setups, It'd be cool to see any of your thoughts to this idea, and hopefully I can join in your community with some stories of success (?)

No idea about the spec, my dual core can run two clients with little issue and I have less ram, had a lower graphics card. But my CPU is AMD (3800+).

As for the rest I understand that the software to do this would be keyclone, and probably something to maximize the two clients onto the two screens (its mentioned in another thread (or two) and can be found on Curse Gaming). I'd also suggest looking at threads about the different methods that Nvidia GPUs send data to two separate screens. One will result in massive graphics lag while the other will do what you want, sadly I don't experience this personally so can't be more specific.

Thanks for the quick response, how about the second part? Any ideas on that? If I just set one of the mages to follow but had it cast exactly the same spells then this would be a simple way of increasing dps? (though not really having the same benefits of working as a team with another mage).

I really feel I lack the co-ordination to do anything more than this, but I've got a feeling it'd still be a quicker way to level up (playing 'solo' in effect)

It works. It's a quick way of farming and leveling. Since the party is controlled by one person -there should be no confusion of who should hit what .

It may take a little longer to level since the exp is split up but also you make up for it by increased killing power. You could farm instances (making good money too). You could go kill elites a little easier too. Apparently PvPing like this brings an insane amount of QQing on the official WoW forums too which is an added bonus!

As far as I know you can use WoWMaximizer to send the second client to the secend screen.

If you use 2 identical classes with identical keybindings you can use Keyclone to send keystrokes to multiple clients. See: http://www.dual-boxing.com/forums2/viewtopic.php?t=883

The author of Keyclone also frequents these forums and is a helpful guy. He's willing to help you should you come across any trouble.

It works. But perhaps not as well as you'd imagine. Control aside, you get that as you play around, the main problem (if you can call it that) is that for two characters at once you don't earn a group bonus. So you are in eefect earning half what you would per mob. And with some exceptions you don't kill twice as fast (though to be better than solo it'd need to be more than twice as fast).

Some exceptions to that obviously: Safety, with two characters (or more) you should be able to handle better mobs, elites or just something higher in level than you. Mana use: Will be lower so less down time per mob, you'll still have downtime but as mana use is halved you last for longer on a single charge. AoE (AE) Grinding, going to be much better with a pair of mages than a single. If one mage can take down four mobs on a single charge (mana) two mages can probably do twice or three times as much, bearing in mind if one gets all the agro both die. Over agro is always a problem.

Going with a different class you have ways round that but lose the AoE ability somewhat :'(
