I am currently 3-boxing in EQ2 - well, actually it is 1 instance on 1 PC, so 3 PCs, using Synergy with keyboard broadcasting for support. It works quite well, and I am having a lot of fun.

    My setup:

    Paladin
    Wizard
    Templar

I know, in terms of efficiency you can do better, but I prefer a nice little group with a bit of roleplay background (means I love to roleplay, and my chars should fit together - will not combine evil and good races/classes).

Leveling and gaining AAs is very easy with this group, my Templar has almost nothing to do, wizard is burning mobs away, while my Pally goes for a happy slashing orgy. But this may change soon, currently in my 40s with the chars, so when higher levels come it will probably get more difficult.

I've been 3 boxing for awhile with synergy and logitech g15.. Bruiser, defiler and digre. Good setup for most but adding a fury atm, should strengthen the group abit. In the future I'm planning on adding a wizzy, pet class or lock to add the dps abit.

I see all kinds of posts on the official EQ2 forums about people multiboxing...seems like damn near everyone plays a minimum of 2 accounts at all times. I, however, have no idea how to even get started for the most part. None of the people I've talked to seem to have more than 1 PC, but I can't see how they run 2-3 clients on one account without turning the graphics to complete shit (not a huge deal, but it makes finding things a lot more difficult since I'm not familiar with much of Norrath yet). I haven't met anyone that seems to have what I would consider to be a good machine (myself included). Are you guys all running on multiple machines or did you start out with 1 and move on from there?

In addition, suggestions for a good duo/trio of classes to multibox with would be most welcome. Thanks.

I run my 3 accounts on 3 different machines, just because EQ2 is so hardware hungry. If you want to run multiple accounts on 1 machine, I guess you need to have a very powerfull one, and be prepared to turn down graphics dramatically. Otherwise it will not run good enough to have fun playing.

Perhaps one of you can help me.

I'm switching to EQ2. I used to play EQ2 back in the day when it came out, also a bit when PVP came out.

I want to 6 box it on a PVP server.

    4 Warlocks
    1 Healer
1 Tank (Thinking Zerk what do you think?) Auto taunts on attacks would be helpful for less management

I'm not sure what healer to choose. Please note I’m going Freeport. I thought inquisitor looked enticing with the added armor bonus. But the long casting heals with so many squishy in group might be a concern. That and also interrupts. But what I like most about it is, with the plate it gives me more time as i'm sure it will be the first target in PVP.

I can't see anything outliving 4 warlocks for more then 10 secounds however so perhaps my concern isn't one at all. What do you guys think?

I did have a defiler on the PVP server up to level 42. Did really well with it but I read there has been a 25% ward nerf. I also remember that wards weren't enough, I had to do a lot of healing between which were pretty weak.

Something else I've been thinking about.

Would you go 3 warlocks and 2 healers, 1 tank for PVP?
    Or 4 locks 1 healer, 1 tank?

I know wards of the same type don't stack, so it would have to be 2 diffrent healer types. Your thoughts?

4 locks, healer and tank.. well bradster, it would be a overkill for most easy mobs but the more difficult mobs the group would not be ideal.

4 locks, means less group buffs, a ton of aoe damage but no power regen.

One healer and one tank, zerker and templar or fury would be a decent choice.

If you are wanting to do some instances like unrest etc then I would take additional healer, not the same type and maybe one lock, one wizzy and dirge or swashie.

with the dirge your zerker dps and tanking would go up along with power regen for the wizzy and lock.

Good group setup imho would look like this, zerker, templar, fury, dirge, wizzy and lock.

fury, wizzy and lock are nukers.. no need to worry about melee range and such, plus fury would act as a secondary healer in harder areas.

Zerker is and ideal choice for a boxing tank because of hight auto attack, great taunting and plate wearing.

Templar plus dirge with their stone skins would rock.

You would have, ports, evac and group invis.

    just my 2cents

    - Didnt notice the pvp thingy, well my setup is mostly for pve.. might be decent for pvp aswell. One thing is for sure, I would take the locks out and add wizzys personally for pvp.

    Thanks for the suggestions

In full out PVE setup I'd do exactly what you’re suggesting, the more classes the better. However my setup has one design intention. That is AOE damage PVP down the throat.

    I’ve decided to go with

    1 Tank Bezerker
    3 Warlocks
    1 Warden
    1 Defiler

The tank is for PVE purposes as that is a large part of the game. I figured 2 healers would be better then an extra warlock. One to heal the damage over time, mean while wards to block the damage. Protecting the squishy in PVP. My group’s weakness would be AOE attacks. With 2 Healers however it’s no longer an issue, in fact that pretty much takes care of any problems.

The less classes the better, to manage and control at once at least. Man this is going to be so much diffrent. I'm going from 2 classes to 4 and 5 toons to 6

    Default Hey EQ2 folks

I am currently 6 boxing the game. I have 6 separate computers currently without any special hardware or software being used. Its all ironman! In the process of buying some Vetras to make my life easier. Will use the Vetras on my healers and my mages. Perhaps get one to link my tank and scout. Not sure yet.
    Set up is:
    70 Mystic
    70 Warden
    70 Paladin
    70 Swashbuckler
    70 Conjurer
    70 Wizard
My biggest accomplishment is taking down Sothis. I am proud of that so I could get my Hoo'luk hats. Was difficult and it took me 3-4 times to accomplish and figure out the placement to do it.
