Default I hate the Belkin Nostromo N52te

I know a couple people here use the Belkin N52 and I know that the original was the best and the others are not that good. I bought the N52te a month and a half ago and i hate it. There where a couple times where the gamepad would just make a random movement or it would just auto run (without me pushing auto run). Didn't really use the mouse wheel because it was in a weird place. If you wanted to use a combo of buttons (Left + 1) you have to set up a macro for it and the software for making a macro is not the best. Half the time it would record the macro great and when i closed and reopen the software and it rewrote the macro that i recorded. Half the time the buttons would not even respond (I have the tab save to one of the button, and i would spam that button and it wouldn't target anything even if the mob was in front of me). I know it takes time to get use to, but after a month of using it and returning one to get another that hopefully worked better, i hate this thing.

The game pad that i was using before (now switch back) this one was the Ideazon Fang (zboard.com) and i love it to death. The software is a lot more user friendly, and you don't need to make a macro for a button combo. It is also cheaper too. It might look cheap but have been using mine for 1 year and have no problems with it. Another thing is that when you save the layout you don't have to upload it to the pad like the N52.

So if you are tight on money and you are thinking about the N52, try the Fang it is half the price and you'll love it.

There is also another game pad that people use it x-key and x-key pro... going to find out more about this and i might get it not sure after the huge disappointment about the N52. What does anyone have to say about the x-keys?

I've got one of the old USB Xkeys 20key desktops I'll trade you for that. No Vista drivers available for this model.
I've got something to show ya!

i hated the fang because the keys were so small and i always wound up blowing cooldowns randomly. i have skinny fingers yet always managed to fat finger the number keys on it. it was a really weird layout too, it's collecting dust right now.

Yea I hated it too. I returned it about 4 hours after I bought it.

Question for you: What do you use then? Strait Key boarding or do you have a secondary
controller other than a nostrum IE what works best for you.

Interesting because the n52te is the best model yet for key response and feel...have an original n50, n52 and now n52te. I don't use it to move but it fires my spells just fine. I use the button above the pad as a temporary green shift to fire more spells and do many non-combat stuff like mount up and accept trades, invites, etc. The thumb button below the directional pad never worked right on my original n52's (had 2 of them thinking the first one was bad, but nope).

The one complaint I have about the n52te is the lack of a 4th uncolored layer like the original models. I had to put my X-keys pro aside for a bit since it's unergonomic (my left hand was hurting from using it so much) and have been using the n52te for a couple of weeks now and it's much more comfortable. I'll definitely be still using the X-keys pro at some point (alongside the n52te) when I start instancing more with mixed classes.
