Default Few questions regarding addition of rigs.

    Hey guys,

Im currently multiboxing on a single rig, dual monitors: Q6600 @ 3.2ghz, 4 gig ram, 512mb 8800 gt. I have had no problems with any computer lag until I hit the outlands. I turned all my graphics in wow down a fair bit, but as soon as I hit shattrath, it was COMPLETELY unplayable. :cursing:

I have a second 8800gt and decent motherboard sitting around, gathering dust, as well as a 7900 gtx. So I was thinking about getting a second and third rig for boxing. 2 accounts on main computer and the rig with the second 8800gt, over 3 monitors.

I wouldnt know where to begin using multiple rigs.. So I have a few questions :

Is the transition from a single rig to multiple rigs difficult?

Can different operating systems be used?

Is 3 boxing 5 accounts viable?

Any other imformation/guidance would be appreciated..

First off, i've never more than 2box'd wow (and i wasnt very good at it, nor did i play long enuff to get into the endgame before running back to eq...) but seems like you could buy keyclones for the two new comps, and broadcast that way. (assuming you were using keyclone for boxing on the main comp...mgiht help if ya told people your control mechanism, lol)

/srhug it depends on your control scheme. I never could get used to running more than 2 toons on a single comp, lol.

Currently doing 6 over 3 machines in EQ1, and freaking sick of tabbing. (doing 2/2/2, using a Nostromo for 2 of the comps, and the keyboard for the third). lotsa tabbing tho; which is a pain, so decided to add 3 more comps so I could use a multiplier to broadcast... (keyclone won't work for EQ1, and its legality is somewhat ambiguous for that particular game).

bottom line, If your control scheme has to change, then its gonna be a major pain, and It probably will. Looking at 3 monitors isn't really that much harder than checking multiple chars on one machine tho, its actually less twitchy, because you can get used to watching things out of the corner of your eye. Wasn't much of an issue for me, because when i started botting the cleric back in 2000, you coulln't run two EQ's on one machine LOL, so my transition was the reverse.

    maybe that helped, lol.
