Yes, hunters have many ways to avoid this, but he is not my main, so everything needs to be fairly scripted. Running around and laying a bunch of traps or hitting concussive shot when I pull aggro is not an option for a background window.

Freezing traps are also not an option because then you have to be sure that they don't have a dot tick on then which is then pretty restrictive plus the fact that if the hunter is attacking it then it is the current kill target.

In a way hunters can be really nice as an alternate window due to auto-shot and the pet, but also very difficult as it is hard to keep the pet from dying. Auto-shot damage is also pretty low for a BM build, which is the current best PVE build. Feel free to look at my hunter's spec if you like: Smokay on Bloodscalp.

Get improved pet heal talent, and the one that lets the pet stun. Dump rest in MM, go with a fast gun and make sure pet is causing anger/threat. I only pull agro from the pet when the mob is significantly higher than either of us. Then I can slow, trap or FD to shed the agro or give myself bretahing space. Keeping the pet alive, again except of targets significantly higher is a doddle.

This might be different with two hunters duoing I only have one so far but at 53 I am ridiculously over powered, killing 55/56 elite giants in Azshara with no real issue, and tanking (with pet) 2 or 3 level 54-56 undead types in EPL/WPL. If I was in the habit of asking devs to nurf things hunters would be at the top of my list.

I double box with my main as a feral druid, so the hunter just finds a spot, I execute a macro for mark/pet-attack/auto-attack, and then I have the various hunter skills timed with autohotkey. The only thing is that I wish that I were using a mage or even better a warlock because then I can just put them on auto-follow while my druid tanks and they can just blast away. Since the hunter issue starts at 8 yards, he has to park somewhere. My workaround for this is to have a specific key bound to follow the druid and another key to stop following. It works very well for me.

Come to think of it, I wonder if the best duo combination for a feral druid would be a shadow priest since threat doesn't matter...

Edit: Another note: I'm not sure how this works, but I noticed that when I execute my pet-attack/auto-attack macro that the hunter turns to face the target. I'm not sure how...

Tried 2 hunters last night and had a blast!
Put them on opposite sides of the mob, start autoshoot, and watch the mob run back and forth between the two. If they both do equal damage it just can't dicide which one to aggro ! ... :lol: :lol:

I play a shaman and a druid at the same time. Shaman as frontman and druid casting wrath and moonfire from behind, and the occasional heal or HoT. Works really nice for me. They are both level 17 atm.
