HotkeyNet and Wow Maximizer

I want to set up hotkeynet, one because its free, and I don't have the extra cash at the moment, and I want to use wow maximizer.

I found a keystroke that opens up multiple copies of wow, adjusts the names of the windows (wowmain wowalt1 etc) and even types in usernames and passwords (is this within the TOS?) but it just opens them up in windowed mode on top of each other.

So I got wowmaximizer, and all the pre existing setups are for main on left monitor, and with matching resolution monitors. I use 1 37" 1080p TV for my main, and a 17" for my alts (I know, greedy for main space

Is there a way to set up the 4 alts to go on the left hand side, with the main on the right monitor?

Or should I just use keyclone...

You can move the windows and change their sizes with Hotkeynet. You can also remove their borders and title bars with HotkeyNet.

I figured out how to resize the windows and organize them.

How do I get them to be on the left hand monitor? And how do I remove the borders?

I have a hotkey CTRL Backslash which opens up all my copies of wow, enters usernames/passwords, and resizes and organizes the window layouts. Is there any possibility this is going to get me in trouble? I don't mind typing in username/password 5 times, but if I can automate it, why not?

The way my monitors are set up, the upper left corner of the left monitor is position 0, 0. To put a window there I write:

<SetWinPos 0 0>

And how do I remove the borders?

With this command:

<RemoveWinFrame>

I don't know much about WoW because HKN is a general purpose program, not something designed for WoW. But I'd be surprised if Blizzard cares how you start WoW. I think they are only interested in how you control your characters while you are playing. But I'm only guessing. There are people in this forum who can give you a better answer. To get their attention you might have to start a new thread with a title like, "Is it legal to start multple WoWs with a hotkey?"

BTW Kudos on hotkeynet. It does just what I need. I like the fact that only keys that I tell are included in the broadcasting, I believe the other programs default to all, and you have to exclude some EEK! I'd rather include 10 keys than exclude 30.

Sorry, I assumed the left monitor was the primary. From your description, it sounds like the upper-left corner of your secondary is at 1920, 0.

I'm glad to to hear this because some people react the opposite way. They come to HotkeyNet after trying broadcast programs and they expect HKN to work like a broadcast program. Of course HKN can do everything a broadcast program does -- that's why it has PassThrough and BroadcastKey commands. But in addition it can do much more because it's a hotkey program.

One of the major differences is the defaults. You point out an important one. There's also the question of whether the trigger key combo gets passed to the currently active application. In HKN, the default for that is "no." People who are accustomed to broadcast programs are sometimes bothered like this. One user wrote to me several times asking me to change this default behavior. I had trouble making him understand that he was asking me to replace a powerful, flexible default with a gimped, limited default.

Another thing along these lines. People constantly ask me about "slaves" and "master" PCs with regard to HKN because they learned to think that way from other programs. But those words don't apply to HotkeyNet. With HKN every PC is equal. They can all send keystrokes to the others, and they can all receive them. And since each keyboard can be defined differently, that means you have a lot more keys to work with.

So, setting <SetWinPos 1920 0> puts it off the screen to the right. Do I have to enter a negative value?

that did it. Apparantly when your secondary monitor is to the left of the primary, zero is inbetween the monitors. I used <SetWinPos -1280 0> and it worked perfectly.
