Keyclone Override HotKey not working.

Hiya and thanks for a great program.

I can't get the override hotkey to work for any version after 1.8f. Every time theres an update I have to revert back to 1.8f to get it working again.

Now, I've delete the Keyclone folder and done fresh installs but always the same problem. There must be something i'm missing here? Everything looks fine in the Override Options. I did try and do a search here in the forums before posting but I cant find any info.

BTW, 1.8f works great! Started w/1.8e.

EDIT: Talking about the keyboard hotkey, manual click on Keyclone override still works np.

Howdy Whack and welcome to the forums!

you can set the override key to whatever hotkey you want. go to keyclone/ setup/ override settings.. find which override you want to adjust, click in the region to the right of the description... and hit a key

by default, general override is defaulted to PAUSE (pause/break button in the upper right of most keyboards)

personally, i set the DNP override to CTRL+PAUSE (which shows up as CTRL+CANCEL)

also, to trigger the override, you must be on one of the managed screens (in a wow window).

I totally understand how to set up override in Keyclone but what i'm saying is that override HotKey does not work with any versions after 1.8f no matter how many times I "set" it up.

By default, when upgrading to a newer version, doesnt Keyclone save your settings from previous versions?

if you update by just installing newer versions over an existing copy (which is not running at the time, of course).. then your settings will remain. the ini file does not ship with the install binary and therefore will not over wright your settings

if your keyclone is not saving your settings.. and you are on vista.. then you must -always- run as administrator.

do this by setting the properties on the shortcut (shortcut/properties/advanced/always run-as admin)

Yes I update by installing over an old version. Yes I'm running vista and have that annoying "Run as an Administrator" turned off.

Everything looks fine when I update, all my settings are still there, nothing looks out of place.

When I hit my hotkey button on my keyboard to Override, nothing happens, nothing at all...... THOUGH I can still hit the clicky manually on Keyclone to override, just not on the keyboard.

When I revert to 1.8f and open Wow and hit my Override Button on my keyboard, It works, It overrides and does not pass keystrokes.

as for override not working.. that is just odd. you are saying that if you go into the setup, you'll see the hotkey specified... but if you are in wow, hitting that key does not pop up the 'mute' message (assuming the message is checked... if not, please check it)

and you have started from scratch... removing the old directory and downloading a fresh copy from solidice?
ok.. at that point, i'm a bit stumped... it's been working for me (and most people, i believe)

Actually it's quite simple, click the following ----> Start-->Control Panel-->User Accounts and Family Safety-->User Accounts-->Turn User Account Control on or off-->Uncheck Use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer, Then click "OK". (Make sure you google this procedure so you understand what your doing,it's basically an added MS security feature that most of us can live without. ) and thats it, no more annoying "Run as Administrator" pop-ups.

Correct, but it DOES work with Keyclone 1.8f

Correct. I've tried this with all versions from 1.8f-->1.8i. And believe it or not, I can install 1.8f over 1.8i and everything works fine. I actually keep a backup of all versions since 1.8e, since I first purchased Keyclone, just in case something like this happens with a new release.

Nope, not as far as I can tell. I honestly don't know if anything else is bugged with versions from 1.8f because I havnt used them long enough to find out. I really depend a lot on that "Mute" override key and would rather not play without it.

well, we won't want that... and it sounds like you have it in hand. it could just be a weird tweak that i haven't seen before

can you PM me your keyclone.ini (edit out the account names pls) so i can check it and see if i can figure it out? thanks

It's been fixed, for some reason WoW instances were not being added to Keyclone *shrug*, I had to manually add them but now everything is working as intended.
