Suvega's Leveling/Money Knowledge
Leveling your Characters
There is two popular methods to leveling your characters in the old world, "boosting" and questing. Both have their ups and downs, with the first
being a lot less time consuming. I'll split it up into the two sections:
Questing
Questing is by far a quicker way to method then going in dungeons (non-boosting), it provides a phenominally good XP / time, and also gives you
good experiance in how to play your characters. Multiboxing is tough, and it requires a large ramp up time, so my recomendation is:
If you are new to multiboxing, you should level your charcters through questing, mixing it with instances to kill the monotony
Yes, you can get boosted, is it worth it? Probably not. You'll be a noob for much longer, still getting used to all of your macros, how to use them,
what you need to setup, etc. DON'T SCREW YOURSELF, LEARN TO PLAY WHILE LEVELING.
Ensure you have the following professions on at least one of your characters:
Herb
Skin
Mine
Ench.
DON'T FORGET TO LEVEL THEM. YOU WANT THESE AT THE RIGHT LEVEL IN OUTLANDS.
Next, you will ask me, "Well what quests shoudl I do?", and I shall respond with:
Buy a leveling guide. (yes buy, don't be a cheap ass). Jaina's lvling guild, and Brian Kopps are by far the best. If you can see if you can get the
pre 2.3 version. If you use the pre2.3 version, just skip the collection quests that take a while, and you'll be fine. If you get a post 2.3 version,
you probably want to stick with the quests given, unless you feel like instancing to make up the xp gaps from skipping collection quests.
Lastly, wait until 60 for outland. It's worth it, and it won't mess up your XP curve in outlands. Believe me, the EPL and WPL quests are nice and easy.
Just do em.
Boosting
Boosting is by far the fastest way to level your characters. Period. In the time it takes you to quest out one 5 box group, you could boost 3 groups.
The XP /hr is rediculous and people have gotten rediculous lvling records (28 hours for lvl 70? wut?). However, there are a few downsides:
1) You will have no money (you aren't looting stuff, that slows you down, ALOT).
2) You need a lvl 70. If you're playing the lvl 70 AND your toons, THEY MUST BE IN THE SAME NAME. Otherwise enjoy the banorola
3) Its monotonous. Like seriously, its alot of just -pull-kill-repeat.
4) It is on its way out. Blizzard knows the issue, and is working on ways to fix this. It's not going to stay forever.
So how does one boost you ask? Let me give you the short sweet version:
First you need a lvl 70, in order of preference, you want one of hte following:
1) Prot Paladin - BY FAR THE BEST
2) Warlock, affliction (siphon life)
3) Mage
If you have a VERY giving friend, he can do it for you, and you can just follow around.
If you are going to do it yourself, (5box, 1 lvl 70, and 4 charcters to lvl), THEY MUST ALL BE IN THE SAME NAME. Let me reitterate once more. EVERY
ACCOUNT YOU EVER MULTIBOX NEEDS TO BE IN THE SAME NAME. PERIOD. YOU WILL GET BANNED. YOU WILL GET BANNED. GGGGGGGggGGgGG. :P
Order of instances:
(Clear the instance until you can get in the next one, then switch).
1. Deadmines/RFK (the one in orgrimar)
2. SM. Do the armory, then the cath, then reset.
---- If you have a prot pally you can continue ----
3. STRAT! Undead + prot pally = nice.
Stop at lvl 60.
Hitting Outland
Grats your 60! Yay. Take some screenshots, cheer to your self, Oh wait, there's Burning Crusade. DAMN. Go out pay for the expansion, load up
fraps and hit the portal
Now, here is your choice. You can either:
1) Plan ahead, take some time, but be financially secure
2) ZOMG I WANT 70 MEOW, RIGHT MEOW.
For 2? Just go ahead and follow the lvling guide all the way to 70. Have fun!
I personally chose 1, and I am VERY happy I did. Therefore, I recommend 1, because its the best idea imo, and I will explain it below
First off go do all the hellfire quests. You want to do these because they basically replace all the crappy gear you have with a COMPLETLY new set of
gear. Enjoy free epix! (err greens that are better then lvl 60 epix).
Next go do the Zangar quests. Yeap, you can do all of em. Why you ask? Because at lvl 70, these quests are grey, they give very little gold.
If you want, you can do the first half of the terrokar quests, but its not really needed. Don't do any lvl 64 + quests.
Next Hit instances! You want to lvl the rest of hte way in instances. It's going to be tough, but its worth it. You'll learn how to play PvE with your
group, you'll get decent xp, and most importantly:
****You save your quests for lvl 70.*****
For instance lvling, I suggest the following:
60-62 - Ramparts
62-63 - Blood Furnance
63-64 - Slave Pens
64-65 - Underbog
65-67 - Mana Tombs
67-70 - Sethekk Halls
Get your mounts (epic, its how I roll baby)
Now, that you planned ahead (right?), you have all of these quests available to you at level 70, this is exactly what you want.
Take the money you have from doing instances and selling Large prismatics, and other enchanting suplies
First off, go do the prequests for daily quests, (ogrilla and skettis). Every day do your daily quests.
Let me repeat myself:
EVERYDAY DO YOUR DAILY QUESTS.
Next, go through and in each zone, pickup every quest you see, and do them. Take your time, enjoy the lore and actually read the quests (if you
want).
Now for the fun part, by the time you're done with all these quests, you'll have over 26,000g.
TWENTY SIX THOUSAND GOLD. OH EM GEE
Move it all to one charcter, take screen shots, then by the epic mounts.
Next, start working on the Netherwing quest line (you want dragon right?). Get that all completed and keep doing netherwing dailies until you unlock
all of em (with rep).
