if you have any problems with keyclone not responding or crashing... please send me your system-id, system specs, and the version you are running... and i'll check to see if there is anything i can figure out.

This issue started with the 1.8h release and has been reported many times now. Something changed with 1.8h release, and it seems to be affecting many vista users. I have gone back to my 1.8g backup. I have no mousewheel support, but at least its very stable.

Just an update, Im still having the not responding issue, it seems to happen randomly at times, between both compupters. i thought it was to due with the shift key, but even after changing the keys the next day im still having the problem, im currently at work right now, but when i get home ill send you the id's and specs of the computers. I am using windows xp on one computer and vista on the other and I am also using Multplicity for using one keyboard and mouse on both computers. Btw this is happening with LoTRo, i have not tried it on WoW yet. The issue started with 1.8h for me as well, and carried on to 1.8i.

i'll continue looking into this tonight / this weekend. i was playing last night for about 2 hours... no problems. that doesn't mean there is no, problem.. it's just not apparent on slower hardware (i'm guessing mine is probably slower then most of the rigs here)

if i find the issue, i will post a release immediately.

Lemme butt in here for a sec. I have a suggestion for you guys that are having problems. Do the following steps and report the results back to Rob:

    1. Run keyclone and WoW and get it all going and working normally
    2. Right-click your taskbar and select Task Manager
    3. In Task Manager, open the View menu and click "Select Columns"
    4. In the "Select Columns" dialog that appears, check the boxes for Virtual Memory Size, Handle Count, Thread Count and GDI Objects
    5. Click OK.
    6. Expand the Task Manager window so you can see those extra columns.
    7. Write down the values (or take a screenshot) for the keyclone process.
    8. Play normally until it locks up on you.
    9. Go back to Task Manager and record the info for the keyclone process.
    10. Send the before and after data to Rob so he can tell what the process is doing to resources.
This may give him some more data to work with and identify a problem area or, conversely, eliminate some possible culprits.

Hope this helps. Intermittent problems that aren't reproduceable on the dev machines are a bitch.

I am also having this freezing problem. I just purchased 2 licenses, unfortunately the software is not useable. I am excited for a fix for this, because I got a little teaser and really like it.

I have two instances running on two seperate machines. One machine is a laptop with vista 64 bit(laptop_stats) and one is a desktop with XP, the desktop is older(desktop_stats). I can connect fine, I have my do not pass setup as a whitelist to only allow 3 keys or so.

For me the crashes seem to be more frequent, i can connect the machines together and keys get passed but after 5-10 minutes one client crashes on one machine and I have to kill it via task manager as others do.

Hope this helps, I am willing to send any info you need, I'd love to see this resolved. Thanks, and keep up the good work - this product is really cool!

New to the world of multiboxing, and dualboxing a couple of lowbie shamans myself, I'm unfortunately in the same boat as these gents, having problems with Keyclone going into 'not responding' mode.

It's happening randomly as well; I'll be moving around, laying waste on critters, with the clone assisting me - rinse repeating - and then suddenly I'll notice I'm not getting the support from the clone I'm supposed to be getting. I then find the connection to either machine dropped in Keyclone and the dropped client gone into the 'not responding' mode.

I've tried running versions 1.8g to 1.8i, and it's happening in all of them.

(Main on Vista [run as administrator], clone on XP).

It's a great piece of software, and dualboxing is a lot of fun (collect quests excluded - I'm happy I don't pentabox!)... but it's a bit disheartening having to "lose focus" every so often.
Not currently multiboxing, but looking to get into it again.
