hmmmm, I may have found the culprit, I'll check it after work. I thought I had automatic updates turned off on the laptop(slave), but it was still on. I will turn it off, disable all mods except JAMBA and experiment.

So far, it's still not responding on th elaptop at random times, with auto updates off
