Keyclone stops responding

i am unable to reproduce this behavior (spent 3 hours playing last night.. and 2 during the day... nothing)

please make sure you are on v1.8i

Hey guys,

I had Keyclone crash on me about a dozen times last night playing with 1.8i (program not responding problem). I don't think it's a problem directly related to keyclone as keyclone him self was not able to replicate the problem. it's something else to do with windows or another program, as i can just have 5 Keyclones running with nothing else and they are all stable and work fine. Going to play with my addon's when i get home and see if that might have something to do with it.

My current addons are Omen, Trinity Bars, Outfitter, Pallypower, Whisper relay

I'm also using a N52te and i'll check to see if maybe that is causing the problem.

Keep posting if you notice any other problems so we can track down this problem..

I have the same problem as well.

I'm using Vista, and every 30 minutes to 2 hours, keyclone will not respond or broadcast any commands. I'll have to enter the task manager to kill it, and then restart. It happened 4 times to me last night during the course of 30 arena games, I don't know if furious button mashing could somehow provoke it (rapid combination of shift or control characters??)

I'm using version 1.8i on both main and the other PCs. I had this problem occasionally with previous versions, but it seems worse lately.

I'm not sure what extra information I can provide that will help. Is there anyway to set keyclone so that it will generate an error message that might help to track this problem down?

My port isn't always 1320, but i wonder if it always needs to be that. I'd presume that shouldn't make a difference as long as I'm able to establish a connection between all the machines at the beginning.

Anastasiya -- I'm not using any of those addons at all that you listed, so the problem doesn't seem specific to those addons at least.

it appears that the shift key is causing the keyclone to stop responding and getting stuck in a loop. If I press shift again it appears to clear it up. i am using strict white list.

i been testing this with LoTRo, and noticed that too, when i used hotkeys that used the shift key, like shift & 1, shift & 2 after a bit it would lock up keyclone and would have to restart keyclone by closing it in task manager, i rebound the keys to alt &1 and alt & 2 and etc... and havn't had keyclone crash yet.

Is there any chance of getting an old (1.8e perhaps) Keyclone distribution posted?

Although I recognise the value of it, I personally don't need *any* of the fluff that keeps getting added - I just need a reliable inter- and intrra-host key broadcasting app.

I've also been having this problem. i have one vista (4 clones) and one Xp machine. they both tend to lock up at least once every 2 hours, with the Xp machine sometimes going a little crazy on me and locking up as soon as i maximise WoW again :S

for your ports issue, could it be that if you were to go into taskmanager you would see a few Keyclone.exe things running? might be making it more unstable with every new one you open too :S shouldn't require a whole system reboot tho.

I'll try this shift thing out later.. If it is that, I dunno what I'm going to do :P I abuse the shift key no end.

the "Shift" key is my bet. I use a Fang to pass things like "Shift+t", "Shift+i", etc. i never thought to try hitting Shift again to see if Keyclone would recover. I'll switch over to using Alt, or just remove modifier keys althougher, and see if that fixes it. thanks a bunch for responding guys!

I changed all of my macros from those that have "Shift-<key>" to "control-<key>", and this did not fix the issue for me.

Keyclone will run perfectly fine, and then unexplicably wil stop working and I will have to go to the task manager to kill it. It seems to happen the most often in battlegrounds or an arena, I'm not furiously pounding keys, but I suppose I am hitting them quickly.

This appears to be a difficult bug to reproduce, but it does happen with some regularity. In the last 2 hours of PvP, I had to kill and restart keyclone 3 times.

I have only just started using Keyclone a few days ago and I seem to be having the same problem.

I use 2 computers and have tried logging into wow and not touching anything and walking away, by the time i come back one keyclone has crashed(always the same computer). I use sysnergy at the same time and it seems to block synergy when it crashes, synergy will start responding after i have killed keyclone in the task manager.

Any idea's?
