It's unrelated. This is for people who want to manually poke around on the auction house to see what competing items are for sale. It makes the poking around a 1-click thing, but you still have to set the price yourself.

Also, I think that the Auctioneer functionality you are taling about requires a scan and is based on specific items rather than general categories. I may not be able to gouge people as much as I would like on my level 35 Stone Hammer of Crappiness if you are already selling a level 34 Mighty Club of Craptastitude for less. If there's a way to make Auctioneer do categories it's news to me (pls share! ).
