Also, disabling sound on the alts helps a lot. And limit their background-framerate. The latter can be done in KeyClone or by the in-game commands. Setting it to 15 or something seems to be the norm.

Running 4 installs on a quad-core with 4GB on Vista 64. Runs great. Doubt any more RAM will make a difference.

    4. Add a 2GB or higher USB Flash drive to take advantage of Windows Ready Boost (Additional Memory Cache). Ready Boost is Microsoft's name for using a USB thumb/flash drive to provide some quick access memory the operating system can use as extra RAM. The Ready Boost system can significantly improve system performance.
These two quotes make no sense, ducy?

Bovidae if yeh seeing 3.7 gigs usage tops then its because yer either running XP32 or vista32

I think the biggest performance boost would be to kill aero.

instead of using a flash drive as temporary memory get the real deal :P

Hardware isn't the problem its what yeh got running.

Yes that's why I said "Step 4 is obviously not needed if you have 4GB already. ".

since yeh got vista64 I would suggest yeh get more ram.
Vista by itself need at least 2 gigs of ram
Utter and complete crap. With 2gb ram I could easily run 3 copies of wow, you need approximately 3.2gb with vista to run 5 copies, and that will vary only slightly by the amount of crap you have running.

This is news to me! I use a couple of Vista laptops for boxing and just ordered two 4Gb readyboost-compatible (i.e. fast) sticks to take advantage of it. Thanks!

QFT. I run 4 in 2Gb, albeit only as "drones", with my main on a different machine. And why "yeh" instead of "you" all the time? Makes my eyes bleed
