10 boxing: One character of each class

So, the time is at hand. We finally have ten classes, all raids are being tuned to 10 or 25 man size, and I'm finally out of school and about to go get a real income. Looks like its time to expand my 5 man group to 10 man. Thus far, I'm imagining my set up is going to look like this:

Melee group:
Warrior
Rogue
Death Knight
Resto Shaman
Hunter

Caster Group:
Holy Priest
Mage
Resto Druid
Prot Pally
Lock

Leaves me with 3.5 healer, 2+ potential tanks depending on respective specs, and 4-5 DPS.

My very first set of toons I made, I spent a good week sitting around writing and fixing macros trying to figure out the best way to get them to do things fluidly like normal players. I cannot imagine doing it for every class haha. The brain pain that would ensue!

If you ever do manage to get that team off the ground, I want some videos!

I've already been running groups with 5 different classes, both caster and melee with all 9 current classes, so I have most of the conceptual work for my macros down. What is really getting me is having to respec my currently leveled, speced, and geared Balance Druid and Elemental Shaman, and I may respec the Holy Priest in to a Shadow/Holy Hybrid to get some HP/MP regen, +5% magic damage (which I'm losing from respecing the boomkin), though whether he'll be in Shadow form or not is kinda up in the air. Does Shadow form operate on the main cast bar like stances and forms for warriors/druids in that it switches your main spell line (assuming you use the base ui)?

However I will say that they are right in that you will have quite a task on your hands making all the different abilities and spells and cd's and such mesh well together. TBH though the biggest obstacle I see isn't the # of different classes you'd be using or the mix of melee/range, but rather the likely hood that you'll need to be able to control more than one tank at a time and perhaps having to move them to different locations and such. But hey if you are eager to give it a go more power to ya.

90% of the time, I'm spamming "2", and thus far I've cleared all 5 man content with that method. Its mostly just clever /castsequence and /castrandoms and /targets. I'm imagining the hard part will be boss specific macros and positioning/movement. I do need to experiment some more with warrior "button-mash" tanking, but I think once I get the formula down, I don't see it being too much of an issue. Its hard to say without knowing specifically how all the raid encounters will work, and/or how raid design will work. If the ten man stuff is designed to be beatable with a "functional" 10 man group (2 tanks, 3 healers, 5 DPS) I think I'll be ok. If they pull some funny stuff like 4 tanks, 3 healer, 3 DPS necesary to beat an encounter, or 2 of x class, I may be in trouble.

I may have to learn to function with 2 or even 3 mains, for ranged and melee dps and off-tanking and all that, but honestly, figuring this stuff out is 90% of the fun. Worst case scenario, if I get this set up, is that I end up running end game dailies with 2 groups at once.

Having 10 boxed before.... with 3 classes. I have to say I admire your tenacity. Because you are going to need it. Is this possible? Sure. Will it be fun for you? Only you will know. Will it be effective? Probably not. But does it matter? Probably not. Make sure you upload pics.

I think the simple way to find out if you will accomplish this is to ask one question:

Do you love macros more then girls?

If answer = yes
then you will go far!

if answer = no
