    Default keyclone framerate question

Ok I was doing some boosting yesterday and was noticing that my framerate was kind of crappy .. so i thought i'd turn of keyclone since i just needed the toon to stand in the instance ... my framerate went back to normal for both clients...

    any thoughts?

that would depend on numerous questions.

    1. what is normal
    2. what was it before?
    3. did you just exit keyclone leaving your wows running.. or restart your wows?
    4. were they maximized
    5. what resolutions are you running
    6. what sizes are the maximized regions

    7. what is your machine
    8. are you a button masher
    9. what version of keyclone are you using
    10. are you running anything else

    you get the idea...

    Default

    1. what is normal
Single client? 45-60ish.. no lag cept on really heavy pvp
dual client... running keyclone.. 15.. without.. mid 40's and higher (seems normal)

    2. what was it before?
    see above

    3. did you just exit keyclone leaving your wows running.. or restart your wows?
exited keyclone.. seemed to increase at that point..

    4. were they maximized
    yup

    5. what resolutions are you running
1680x1050 on main (the one that really seems to lag)
    1280x1024 on the other

    6. what sizes are the maximized regions
one pixel less in each (1679x1049 etc)

    7. what is your machine
    Alienware 7500
AMD Athlon 64x2 Dual Core 5600+ 2.80 GHz
    3 gig ram
    32 bit OS
256 MB vid card (8600 GT)

    8. are you a button masher
if pushing two buttons count.. sure.. not really..

    9. what version of keyclone are you using
    most recent h

    10. are you running anything else
just virus prot other than that nope... might have an IE open sometimes.. but that doesn't seem to affect it

please download and install v1.8i alpha... and let me know if you still experience the issue

[Keyclone] release thread - keyclone v1.8h (v1.8i alpha available for testing)

Still having the framerate issue... I tried a couple of combinations and had a thought...

does the amount of UI mods impact framerate once they are loaded? Because one client is clean.. the other has all or most of my mods... the clean client seems to run fine

also i downloaded the new client and still same issue.. i tried various combinations.. with and without maximizer and using the launcher and not... if keyclone is running my frame rate drops. to about 7-10... still playable.. but painful...

so, let's see if i understand this...

you get 45ish fps with a single client.. and 40ish fps with 2 clients. yea, something wrong there.

and keyclone running.. your fps drops to 15. hmm. did you launch your wows with keyclone? did your command have the maxfpsbk and maxfps set? those settings remain even after your exit wow and keyclone. you would have to set them manually in game or edit the config.wtf file directly.

    Default

maxfpsbk and maxfps were set at 15 and 45

I'll give it a try again tomorrow and see if i can't get more info for you.

I have performance issues, but I found a way to reproduce them:
    - press shift and don't release the button
    - rotate your camera and see the performance loss

make sure you are on v1.8i

and you can lose fps by rotating your camera.. depending on where you are

    I will try 1.8i tonight (I have 1.8h atm)
I know that I can lose FPS by rotating the camera, depending on what is in-view, but that's never costing soooooo much performance as when I hold shift while rotating with the camera It goes from like 60fps to 5fps or so and it *immediately* goes back to 60fps when I release the shift button. I have complete controle over the performance with that shift button.
A friend of mine has the same problem with 1.8h.
But, as I said, I'll try 1.8i. I'll post again if the problem is persistent.
