Default Macros and g15 keyboard question for a 1st timer.

Well, First I guess I should say Hi as this is my first post here. Was inspiried by Suvega & Vyndree's Setup that i found a bit ago while browsing about dual boxing so a big thank you to them.

Now down to the good stuff and to keep it short and simple. I got my friends WOW account who quit playing wow and it has a 70 priest on it, I was thinking that i could level my other alts on my main account with his piest and maybe even start up 2 mages on both accounts.

As far as the priest goes ive had alot of ideas going through my head.
1st I own a Logitech G15 keyboard (the old school one, so looks more like this g11 http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/ke...s/285&cl=us,en)
It has 36 other keys I can use, mainly only going to be using the extra 12. I mapped all though through the software to map to CTRL+ALT+1 through 12 and a few letters.
I have maximizer and Keyclone and 2 22in wide LCDs

Now I need to create macros, but im a bit stuck, as I would also like to play this character "normally" once and a while.
So Im wondering if its posbile to create macros that are bound to those CTRL+ALT+ keys but are not actually on my actiobars so I could Press them for my priest, but since those are not mapped to any of my other chars, they would do nothing I hope? I just forsee losts of reconfiguring both my "leveling alts" and the priest going form leveling back to raiding, etc. Most of my action bars are filled with the normal spells and such so I dont have much button room to put macros.

Perhapses there is an easier solution or something im overlooking?

Thanks in advance for any help.

there is a addon for a G15 keyboard on curse-gaming.com just type in G15 in the search bar and you will find it. It puts a visual keyboard on your screen for the G15 buttons, and you can throw macros, skills and such into it. (it's like a extra action bar pretty much)
It's a must have for people with this keyboard im my opinion.

And this will accomplish what you are wanting, you can put different skills in the addon for each character and just press the button and it will do what you want it to do. You will need to bind ALT+CTRL+1 in your G15 profiler and in the wow keybindings, you will have the option at the bottom once you download the addon.

Hope that helps.

Let them hate, as long as they fear.

I'd be careful about using your friends account unless it was officially transferred to you and account information is the same.. nothing worse than putting in a lot of effort on multiple characters and then getting the smack down from blizzard.

could check out this post... Key Mapping - Apologies if this is already widely known

they talk about a few addons that use the new funcitonality to bind actions to keys instead of actionbar slots..

I tried the g15 mod, but unfortunatly all it did was use the 120 action bars already available by blizzard (and of course in my case already used) So that did no good.

Interesting find about the script to keybind. Although that may work, it looks too unfriendly for being able to play normally and then play to multi-box.
I'm thinking the best option from the ones presented would just be to use Bars 11 and 12 for my gkeys and just swap those til i learn to memorize them all. Maybe after i can keep them hidden :::shrug:: well off to learn more advanced macros!

I really like "spellbinder" for binding my macros to the g15 mapped keys. Since you already have have key strokes saved it is really easy. The addon lets you select the macro/spell/item and then hit the bind button, press your G key and save it.

Now you can hit your g keys and the macro executes without using up any action bar space. The bindings all go into your bindings file in the wtf folder so you can edit them offline.

With my really lame 2-3 box set up this works well.
