I think we can thank the multitude of gold sellers, character levellers, Glider users etc etc etc for the reputation some people place on us multiboxers.

I can give you an example of what I mean by this from my playing tonight, literally no more than a few hours ago. My Shaman team was running around Tarren Mills doing some quests, because I got sick of Shadowfang Keep. So, I hit the Elixir of Suffering quest, which for a multiboxer is appropriately named - 1 Spider Ichor and 10 Bear Tongues to complete. So, I'm after 5 Ichors, and 50!! Bear Tongues, and the drop rate blows. I must have stubbornly run around Tarren Mills for an hour dropping every bear I could see before I finally completed it.

In the meantime, I got a PM from someone who knew me that said I was about to be reported as a Glider user, because they'd been watching me run around TM for so long in a regular pattern killing bears (I've levelled so many Horde characters now, I knew exactly the best circuit to make to gather in all the bears). Sure enough, this person is following me around (I hadn't notice them before).

In the end, I explained what I was doing and they were apologised for the almost-report and wished me luck. The point being, to the un-initiated, what we do can easily come off as somehow illegal or underhanded. I've tried to counter that by being open about what I do, stopping to answer any polite questions people have, and I have to say, on my server at least, once people see what I'm doing the response is generally positive, even though it can often be initially negative.
