Multiboxing on mmo-champion.com

There's a new post on http://www.mmo-champion.com that talks about multiboxing. Check it out front page for the next week or so. Not a lot of information, and clearly poorly researched by Boubouille. He refers to multiboxing as "multiplexing" and explains that - "the user will press Thunderbolt rank X on the emitter (First character chosen) soon after the 4 other characters will cast the same spell." Someone should tell him that it splits a keypress that is bound to a spellcast macro, it doesn't split the spellcast macro himself. Misleading, but not malicious, so I'll let it slide.

I guess he gets bonus points for trying? I can't hate on it, it's a complex thing that some people have a hard time wrapping their minds around. For sure, at least it's not more hate.

It almost kinda looks like he went to a thesaurus for some words to use. Emitters? Multiplexing? Just sounds like fancy mumbo jumbo to throw people off the scent.

It's kind of like when you work in IT like me, and you know trying to explain something to someone just won't work, so you use a bunch of fancy words to make them get all googly eyed and be like "well I'll take your word for it because that's all far too complicated for me to understand!".

Considering how often people are scared of computers in general, I'd say thats part of it. Most people I think learn a computer just enough to do what they need, whether it's their job or entertainment or what. Some people struggle just to do that, and anything beyond it tends to be damn near "magic" to them.

I think even the concept can be hard to grasp for some people though, beyond the technical aspects of how to go about doing it. Controlling 5 accounts at once? omg, how can you possibly do all that at the same time!

Who really knows.
