You don't and should not turn off firewalls to make it work. The key is the pc names. Of course, if you DO have a firewall it is possible that will block it (even the windows one).

In order to get the PC names, check your synergy settings. Start synergy on the client PC and click on the Info button on the lower left corner. THATS where the PC name you need to put on the server PC needs to go.

Try that and see if that helps any.

Synergy is an open source program - so it is free. The author is under no obligation to update it or show you how to use it. That said, there are likely many tutorials out there on how to use Synergy.
