    Default Fastest levelling while 5-boxing?

I'm wondering what the fastest way to level up is while 5-boxing? Questing, mob grinding or instance grinding? Could any other 5-boxers advise?

I'm not really keen on the idea of setting one of my five toons aside and powerlevelling the other four with a 70.

I went the boost route so can't comment on the lower levels, but from lvl 40 onwards questing definitely seemed the best way to go with the odd boost thrown in If you are avoiding boosts then stick to quests as that's where most xp will be (especially as killing xp will be shared).

if you dont want to powerlevel i suggest farming instances. If you have the patients and can keep your interest its by far the best way.

/agree Just did this myself, was willing to push on through instances however my XP per hour rating from 50 onwards was getting way too low. I did however instance quest all of BRD which is worth it I think. Plus I found instaces more fun which of course what it is all about yes?

Anyone who has any idea if 3elemental shamans could do instances with just the 3 of them at a level that it`s still worth doing?

    Well, yeah.

Consdiring the toughest part of the instances up to outlands are the bosses. And most instances have bosses in such positions they are skippable. You can still level a great deal grinding instance trash and level quite rapidly with three shaman. (Ideally, you want to do instances where trash mobs are 1 to 2 levels above your level for best experience. You can 3 man instances including bosses if they are 1-2 levels below you, but the exp will be worse as well. )

But it would just be quite boring. At the same time though, you will have less problems when it comes to questing then say a 5 boxer would. So you are pretty much in the position to switch around a bit and quest as well here and there. And can always invite some friends to instances.

With 4 boxing I find questing and then running instances my level once or twice works pretty well. Grinding due to being grouped seems the slowest way to go, thou killing is pretty quick. With all the changes Blizzard made to quest and leveling experience not questing in my opinion is hurting your leveling speed. I have 3 70’s (Paladin, Druid, and Priest) as well but have not tried boosting. My goal is not to race to 70 but learn to control my team as I 4 man instances.

Keep in mind that grinding really doesn't get profitable until 55+ for the most part (with a few notable exceptions). Also keep in mind that most classes won't get their "bread and butter" abilities/talents until the mid-30s or thereabouts, which makes grinding more painful than it needs to be at lower levels.

Personally, I'd gouge my eyes out with a spork before I tried to grind-level to 70. I am _considering_ doing it for some reputation on my shammies once I hit 66+ but we'll see how that goes.

Honestly, the most enjoyable leveling for me is to quest until you have the instance quests for your level and then go do those, with the occasional loot drop boss farming for decent gear to make up the difference from me completely skipping all the quests in hillsbrad, STV and badlands.

I personally just play like I would solo...I quest my way up(grinding + no tangent game goal = no fun/boring) and run instances around the right level, maybe get some gear out of it(SM in particular's the only one I'll re-run because it's such a good instance with good gear and exp, boxing or not; ZF was nice for the spelldmg cane though); I just can't stand to, or bring myself to, grind mobs purely for exp. I'll scrounge for green/red quests instead or run an instance till I get more quests lol

So far it's proven to work though...Warr/Druid = 21 days /played to 60, Rogue = 18days /played to 60, Hunter = 14days /played to 60...I forget how long I had when I hit 70 on the latter 3. Either way may Boomkins are sitting on 10-11days /played at 67. Followed the exact same lvling paths and methods I always have, the 2.3 exp change makes a huge difference as does perma-grouping.

It boils down to, "How patient are you?"; "fastest" can be incredibly boring despite it's effectiveness. I dunno about the rest of you guys but I play to have fun; I play normally and get there eventually regardless, and have fun doing so, no rush yo, no rush :P
