    Default G15 and Keyclone maximizer

First of all, I've been watching these forums for a few days and soaking up as much as I can about multi-boxing. Thank you so much for all you're guys' help even though you haven't helped me directly.

    To the point:

I've been using the G15 keyboard for about a year now(the good one with the 18 keys), and I just started using Keyclone with my horizontal span monitors. My problem is this; it used to be when I pushed say G3 it would do the macro "/cast mana spring totem" and it would do it instantly without me seeing the chat box. Now that I'm using keyclone's maximizer every time I push a G-key the chat box opens up and the macro button pushes "enter" too soon causing me to get the "Type '/help' for a listing of a few commands." error. What can I do to remedy this? If you need to know my computer specs, let me know. I really don't know what would be needed so I'm not posting it now.

BTW, I couldn't decide whether to put this in the hardware or software section.

    Thanks in advance!

first off... don't send the keystrokes directly from the Gkeys... yes blizz has an ok attitude about it atm but that might change, but more importantly it is slow compared to direct keypresses.

use trinity bars 2 which allows macros to be created directly on your buttons. set up a 3 x 6 grid to mirror your gkeys and assign a character to each gkey and each trinity button.

you will notice a massive improvement

Well, I had no idea that it was even remotely questionable in Blizzard's eyes, so I'd be one of those guys that got banned for "ignorance of the law," so to speak.

I did get an add-on last night that does exactly that, except without changing my ui more than just adding buttons. From Curse, I found "G15 Buttons (continued)." It just adds 54 (actually 50 since you can only have 120 something buttons and WoW uses the first 70) buttons that are movable and can be spaced out however you like. Thank you for your input : ) Definitely worth knowing that I might have been doing something wrong!

I would swap it for Trinity Bars 2, it has unlimited buttons and unlimited macros

It does take some configuring because it replaces your standard bars... but the flexibility is amazing.

I have my X-keys pro layout replicated on screen.

I'll keep Trinity Bars in mind if I need to add more flexibilty to my bars, but at the moment, the WoW default bars work just fine for me with the G15 bars addon. Maybe I'm just scared of change, or scared of trying to re-set up trinity on 3-4 different installs of WoW. Pick your evil i guess. . .

I just set up bongos this past weekend and I am loving, if I would have known that trinity bars offers unlimited buttons and macros I would have gone with that.... ;(

My problem is that on my main I made blank macros with the same name and same button icon that are on each of my alts, so that I don't have to memorize the binding of every single macro on all 5 of my toons. Well, I'm about to run out of available macros on my main and I'm pretty much out of buttons too. I guess I'll be spending another couple of hours setting up trinity bars this weekend.

I use the G15 bar mod.. it gives you hotkeys on screen for your keyboard... just have to do a little setup and works great..

I believe that trinity bar mod also has the same button limitation that all bar mods have, 120 buttons, But I could be wrong.

The added ability to macro straight into a key is great with trinity though, because if you do multibox more than 3 character, you're going to be hard pressed for macro slots.

Crayonbox, I am afraid you are wrong. Trinity is not limited to the 120 button rule because it does not use the built-in button schema which afaik all other button mods use.

    Trinity Bars 2.0

    - Complete line-by-line rewrite of code.

    - Unlimited Buttons:
    • With the new 2.3 API, limiting
buttons to 120 is no longer necessary
. Also, an initial install creates
less buttons, letting the user have more control over deciding how many
      to create and use.
    • Buttons can now be designated as specific types of buttons -
      • "action": buttons that are based on the 120 action ID's and reflect spell placements in Blizz default UI.
      • "spell": buttons that are based on specific spells.
      • "item": buttons that reflect items dropped into the buttons
      • "macro": buttons that utilities the secure template macro
system that allows for an unlimited number of macros up to a length of
        1023 characters.
      • "slot": buttons that reflect items current equipped for the specified slot
    - Casting Bar and XP Bar Mini Addons:
    • 1.0 made for huge
headaches dealing with non-button frames. Usually when people had
loading issues, it was due to these frames, namely the casting bar and
the XP bar. 2.0 moves these frames into their own independent addons.
This also allows for those users who want to use more advanced versions
of casting bars or XP bars to more easily disable the Trinity versions.
      • Trinity Cast Bars - Manages casting bars, ability to create more than one
      • Trinity XP - Manages XP/Rep bars, ability to create more than one
      • Both of these mini-addons now allow for custom bar textures and borders
    - New configuration methods:
    • Trinity Bars 1.0 originally
had a configuration method that appealed to many people. However, it
was limited and did not hold the extensibility that I needed to
continue to make Trinity as robust as I wanted. 2.0 brings a means of
      configuration.

There are 3 configuration modes, each having a "simple" mode and an "advanced" mode.
      • Dock Edit Mode
      • Binding Edit Mode
      • Button Edit Mode
Each mode can be toggled by left(simple) or right(advanced) clicking their respective minimap buttons.
    - Features:
    • Scale and set the transparency of bars
    • Adjust the frame strata of bars from BACKGROUND to DIALOG
    • Set a target for a bar. This bar will hide/show itself based on the target's existence
    • Set the bar into many shapes -
      • Horizontal
      • Vertical
      • Multi-Column
      • Circle
      • Circle + One (a special circle that keeps one button in it's center)
    • Skin buttons with many included custom skins or use cyCircled to skin buttons. Each bar can be skinned individually.
    • Many options to colorize various elements of buttons.
    • Adjust the padding between buttons, both horizontally and vertically
    • Many bar types to chose from -
      • Paged - up to 6 possible pages of buttons that respond to actionbar paging keybinds in the default key binding UI
      • Stance - responds to stance and form changes
      • Alt, Ctrl, Shift - responds to modifier key presses to show a new set of buttons
      • Stealth - responds to changes in stealth state
      • Reaction - responds to the bars set target friendly/hostile reaction to your character.
      • Combat/Retreat - shows/hides bars based on combat condition
      • PvP/PvE - shows/hides bars based on PvP flagged state
      • Party/Raid - these bars will hide/show themselves based on being in a party or a raid.
      • Possession - cause a bar to switch to a new state based on if your character is in control of a hostile unit
      • Autohide - set a bar to hide itself until it is moused-over
      • Showgrid - set a bar to always show it's empty buttons.
      • Prowl - a special option for druids to enable a prowl bar if the bar is also set to be a stance bar.
    • Ability to set a binding to toggle a bar to show/hide itself, even in combat
    • Create as many bars as you want, not limited to a pre-determined number of bars
    • Clone Bars - allows you to instantly duplicate any bar
    • Adjust the individual scaling of any button
    • Adjust the individual x and y axis of any button
    • Set the target for any single button
    • Anchor buttons - A button can be designated as an anchor
for it's own bar or another bar. The anchors can work by either
      mouse-over or clicking.
    • Buff/Debuff highlighting - Track buffs on yourself or
current target. The buttons that have spells that are current
      buffs/debuffs will highlight themselves.
    • Toggle the use of button tooltips
    • Turn button tooltips off while in combat
    • Enable buttons to respond to "down-clicks"
    • Text timers for cooldowns and the above buff/debuff highlighting feature.
    • Adjust the opacity of buttons based on if they are on cooldown or not
    • Manage the position and scale of bag frames
    • Lock buttons; ability to use Alt, Ctrl, or Shift as a modifier to drag spells from buttons
    • Keybind, macro and count text can all be shown or hidden
    • Ability to turn the Blizzard main bar on to use Trinity Bars 2.0 in conjunction with the default UI
    • Adjust the opacity of pet autocast animations
    • Set the speed at which transparent or auto-hide bars show themselves on mouse-over
    • And probably other features I am forgetting :P

Well, maybe I'll set up one of my installs to test it out. It seems like there's a lot more customization able since 2.3 (I'm newer to the whole customizing UI business) but are any of those features at risk like I was when I used "/cast *spell*" from the macro keys?
