Cannot decide, whats the best race for shamans?
I am planning to start group of druid and 4 shamans. Druid is gonna be tank for instances and boomkin for pvp.

I'd say Orcs. Blood Fury, 15% resistance to stuns, an extra 5% damage when you use Earth elementals, and +5 to Axe skill - makes for a nice set of Shammies.

Draenei.
If you don't have TBC there are 3 choices:
Tauren gives you extra health, 10 nature resist, and War Stomp, and a near useless +herbalism.
Orc gives you stun resist, Blood Fury, +5 axes - I don't know if the increased pet damage works with elementals or not but I guess it would.
Troll gives you Berserking, +5% damage to Beasts, and +10% heath regen.
I'd lean towards Orc or Tauren.
I've got 3/5 TBC![]()
why draenei tho? it is only gift of the naaru I see useful, and +1% hit aura
atm I see the most useful orcish blood fury, people say it is around 140 spelldamage at lvl 70. Pretty good I'd say.
trollish berserking isnt that good since u need to have all group injured to get decent casting speed increase
Because they have a SPACESHIP!Originally Posted by unit187

But the last thing you want is a Nelf druid... So first decide Tauren or Nelf Druid, that decides faction for you
Then it's down to Orc or Tauren for the reasons above. Do you want 4 Orcs and 1 Tauren or 5 Taurens?![]()

5 big bad taurens would look scary
Fair amount of extra HP, +15 to Herbalism, and 10 points of Nature resistance. War stomp would be nice for adding some stuns to some mobs, but bear in mind its subject to diminishing returns. My advise? Tauren Druid, Orc Shamans. Blood Fury gives you a massive increase in DPS for a short time, the sort of burst you need when in a big fight. War Stomp isn't effective against bosses, whereas 4x Blood Fury gives you an excellent increase in DPS which you might need to burn some bosses down. Plus with War stomp you need to be within 8 yards. The shammies would be best off laying down a few totems near the Tank and then retreating to a safe distance to do the bulk of their DPS.
