Key Clone - An AutoHotKey AND Multibox style program

Never tried it personally, closed source, costs money (all 3 are the opposite of AutoHotKey/Multibox, available here for free) - but purports to emulate Vetras in software. Quite a few users seem to report it works ok. Put it here b/c some may find it useful, even though in my opinion there are better software methods and even better hardware methods.

"Licenses are tied to each machine and a new one must be purchased for each machine. " - Still quite a bit cheaper than Vetras - may still have drawbacks.

"extended keys (alt, ctrl, and shift) are currently not working across machines." - The developer is working on this.

"only tested on WinXP" - Would be nice if it worked in linux but not likely anytime soon.

Edit: The developer posts here and is working to improve the package. Seems like quite a bargain for those who want to go the software route and avoid AHK. $50 vs $1000+ is quite the savings. I am willing to give this tenative positive feedback.

It also allows you to control clients across the internet (?) and through your LAN, as well as on your actual PC... givign you a great deal of flexibility if you are growing your setup over time rather than building it from scratch.

Just found this post, I started another post earlier today. I did a search for "keyclone" one word not two.

I can't find much at all on this either. I'm thinking its rather insignificant.

Clonekeys, hows your support for G15? I'm having trouble with my G15 and AHK triggering off the G-Keys.

Again the only problem I see with this app is the lack of support for alt/shift/ctrl on the remote computers. If that were fixed then I can possibly see paying but as it stands multibox and Synergy supports this and both are free.

Do what you want, but we already have an awesome open source piece of software that handles most of our needs. If not, then people go with hardware (which is more reliable anyway).

You're trying to sell to a community that thrives on finding the cheapest (free'est?) option.

Here's the thing, for $10 it would be well worth it to me *IF* I knew it would work better/easier than what I can setup with AHK.

On the other hand, I'm pretty sure I could write some wicked evil scripts using AutoHotKey that would further the twoboxing abilities such as checking to see if a hotkey is on cooldown or out of range by pixel color and then sending the appropriate hotkey...

But that would definitely be dancing on the EULA naked with a "I hate blizzard" sign tatooed on your ass...
