Default [How To:] Looting without switching windows

Video of it being done: http://www.teamz.dk/Multi-Loot.wmv

    How to:
    1. Navigate to <Path to WoW dir>\WTF\Account\<account name>\
    2. Open up "bindings-cache.wtf"
    3. Scroll down, and under the last binds, add "bind F7 TURNORACTION"(Right click) and "bind F6 CAMERAORSELECTORMOVE" (Left click)
    4. Do that for all your accounts
    5. Launch WoW and log in like you usually would do, and have all in windowed mode.
    6. Launch "KeyClone"
    7. Zoom all your characters but your mains camera into first person (just keep zooming until it can't get further in)
    8. Kill some mobs with group loot, and be sure to get so close as i do in the video to the mob.
    9. Click "F7" and watch!

Gonna have to verify this one when I get home. It sounds feasible, and looting via keypress is a major holy grail that most all of us would love to have. I wonder if it'd be considered against the terms of service even though it's available through a mod to a config file (one that's often referred to by blizzard support reps in fact)

Question: Will this remove binds from the mouse buttons? I'm assuming we can use a different keybind than f7.

No it won't everything will stay as it was before; your only adding something.
And yes, you can use other keys of course.
I've been using it an hour now, and once you get the hang of it you do it about 4/5 times, and lately I've been doing it 7/8 times.

Hmm.. I gotta try this. The "holy grail" indeed. This could cut up to a third of the time off a collection quest. Even with a 5 box setup, looting is still not optimal. Something like this (in combination with quest helper) would be perfect.

Do you mind if I ask how you came across this? I'm too lazy to check Wowwiki, but it would be best for something like this to have documented credibility. Further questions:

    * I noticed you bound left click - "bind F6 CAMERAORSELECTORMOVE" What do you use left click via keypress for?
    * Is first person view the best practice for this? I assume it works because your character is inside the corpse so a click on the corpse is likely.
    * How about top down view? That might be better practice for players with different heights.
    * In order for this to work, do you have to place the mouse cursor in a specific location on the screen, or is the mouse click automatically generated in the center of the screen or something?

ps - Are you on a fax modem or something?

I just tried with more than two characters - and succeed. It's ALOT harder tho, but i'm sure you could get the hang of it aswell.
I think the problem is that they can stand on each other, because it seems like the click just at the buttom off the screen.

    1. I searched for "Loot Macro" on Google and took second one, then i experimented and found this working.
    2. Yeah, F6 and F7 was available, so i just bound it, could be i would have to use that sometime etc. etc.
    3. Yes, first person is ABSOLOUTELY best view for this, as there are ALOT higher chance that you will hit the corpse.
    4. That will be very hard.
    5. I didn't have to place in anywhere, right corner worked just aswell as left corner.
No, i'm not on a modem. xD

It looks like it does click where the mouse is currently located, which can be a tough cookie, especially when you use maximizer and a mouse clone app like Synergy. I wonder if this could be used in conjunction with autohotkey to place the cursor in the center of the screen on keypress.... although again we start to wade through murky waters with regards to legitimacy.

19/20 times the cursor click the correct place. So you don't have to worry about it, really.

I'll have to test it, but honestly if you can get it to 20/20 it'd be worth the effort imo.

It indeed does activate wherever your mouse is currently placed. What happens is when you mouse out of the client, it still registers the cursor in its last known location, which is why you have to zoom in to get the best effect. I notice frequently that if i mouse over my slave clients quickly, often tooltips will be left open as though my mouse is over them, this is because thats where the client last registered my cursor and considers it to still be there, even though it is actually over in a completely different location.

I imagine if you used some kind of script to move your mouse that would easily be considered automation.
