Woohoo!

I added Multiplicity (see sig) and now I can have a setup just like you describe. I just mouseover to whichever toon I want to take control (still no PiP), hit a function key and all the others line up obediently. I've rewritten all my macros to use [target=targettarget] and [target=targettargettarget]. This has really speeded me up
