Out of all the prebuilt computers.. Dell seems to be the best.
BUT, I wouldn't buy a Dell. Build one yourself so that you know exactly what's being used and probably for cheaper.

Well the reason I went with a DELL is because I'm an IT Director for a school district. We get insane discounts, an XPS420 Q6600, 4GB Ram, 2x8800GT, Vista Prem for a bit over $900. Unfornately, only 1 8800 will fit :cursing: Seeing I got the huge discount also puts me in a bind returning the thing. So I did some testing, I normally run 4 clients and with the one BFG OC card I get 30 FPS on my alts and 60 FPS on my main without any drop off or heating issues at all. So I'm just gonna throw the other 8800GT into something else, and ordered 2 22" Monitors for 199.99 at Staples (best deal I saw). I will take my 4 17" monitor setup down and call it a day. Honestly, I think I will enjoy the 2x 22" more than the 4 17"s anyway.

Well, good luck to you and I hope it works out. I run three alts maximized at 1600x1200 on an XPS420 quad. I use HotkeyNet to toggle windows rather than run multiple undersized windows. I usually see 60FPS or more when working that way.
I've got something to show ya!

LOL YOU BOUGHT DELL.
Sorry, you bought yourself into the holeNow the digging begins.
(Not trying to be mean, just expressing my sincere hate for dell.)
i have the same computer, all i have to say is;
im on a laptop right now.
dell ftl.
Over the years I've built PC's but I've also owned four Dells. One of them was a Pentium 3 that I kept on my desk until last year when I finally unplugged it because I no longer needed it to test programs for Win98 compatibility. It was eight years old and still ran fine. I never replaced anything in it except the CD drive. On my network now I've got two P4 Dells which have run nearly 24/7 for four and five years respectively. Between the two of them, nothing has ever broken except a CD drive.
I think Dells are fine if what you want is exactly the original equipment you get in them. The only problems I've ever had with them is when I wanted to add stuff later. For example, the power supplies tend to be pretty small. Big enough for the original components, but not much more than that.
As for the cost of a Dell vs. rolling your own, I haven't compared lately. But over the years there have been times when I compared and buying from Dell was cheaper.

The Dells I have had have been pretty good computers. The only real concern I ever had was having to go back to Dell for any upgrades ... etc ... But yeah defently building your own is probably the best bet.

If you order from Dell, go through the small or medium business website. You get much better service, better parts, and the price is the same.
