Moving around

Hi

I am duo boxing with 2 mages I was wandering how you make them follow around so well mine seems to always drop off or is facing the wrong way lol, I notice in some decent pictures and seeing other dual boxers how swiftly and smoothly they follow each other around is their a technique to this or? I have disabled the WASD keys on my secondary char and this has helped it a little bit.

I think you need to describe your setup before people can diagnose. Hardware multi-boxing? Software? How is your current moving mechanism implemented? /follow?

I got software multiboxing 1 pc with 2 copies of wow on 2 different harddrives using /follow but im not sure if its my wireless keyboard ( Probably is) that maybe slowing my 2nd char from casting fire ball I have to spam my mages fireball button even when its on global cooldown lol. I purchased the full copy of keyclone and I used that guide you linked already for the start part im now ready to rock with the leveling.

So, is your second character "lagging" when trying to cast fireball because he is still /following the main for a few seconds? Or is this occuring when they are both standing still.

Still following but, Is there anyway I can make it stop ontop of my other char? as its slightly behind and nearly out of range

Not an EASY way of making them stop on top of each other. My suggestion: Run a little closer to the mob, and have a button that moves the main backward and the alt forward with the same button. Tap that a little and you're good to cast.

OK, I understand what you mean now. I get the same.

I have my alts on a seperate screen and when I look at that, they're following me at close range. But when I look on my main screen they appear to be lagging well behind. I suspect it's an artifact of WoW; something to do with client side prediction and latency. The alts know they're on follow so if they're told that the main has moved, they know that they need to move. The main doesn't know he's being followed so displays the alts in the position he was last told they were in by the server.

I suspect I'm not making much sense here so I'll try a sequence of events.

Main: Moves.

A packet gets sent to the server to tell it where it moved to. <- Latency

The server sends a packet to everyone else in the vacinity (including the alt) to let them know. <-Latency

Alt: Now knows where the main is so knows where he needs to move and does so instantly.

As the alt has now moved, it sends a packet to the server to tell it where it is. <- Latency

The server sends a packet to everyone else in the vacinity (including the main) to let them know. <-Latency

So from the alt's perspective, there's no latency and they follow snugly behind the main.

From the main's perspective, the alt appears to lag well behind.
