Introductions
Long time lurker, first time poster here.
I've played around at dual boxing, originally as a way to play both sides on a PVP server, and eventually moving into 2 party groups and running myself through dungeons with my higher levels.
My current set up is using my PC for my main and using a G4 Ibook with a G52 as the assisting.
I was doing well running 2 sessions on my PC side by side in widescreen but the disconnects while following, and more importantly the random blue screens of death have made that no longer possible. 2 seperate installs of wow, lowest video settings and no sound, still blue screened etc.
The Ibook is not the best solution because it is barely adequate to run the game even at the lowest settings, but all that matters is key presses getting through.
Yesterday I had finally started to get into that mode where it becomes 2nd nature and I ground out 2 levels each using my warlock druid combo.
I think I know why people like it. It's not just the challenge of playing 2 at once. It allows you to play at the speed your mind and hands want to, instead of waiting for global cool downs and the delays built into the game.
I had a run in with an annoying fellow yesterday. He kept spamming duel so finally I did a "no thanks" on both my characters at once and dual /glares and he freaked out threatening to report me for dual boxing. I told him "Go ahead and look like an idiot, report me".
Twice the accounts = twice the customer = 2 paying customers being harrased by one paying customer, Blizz is on our side.
My system
Geforce 8800GTS on Dell 24" HFC LCD widescreen
Core 2 Duo 2ghz
2GB DDR2 1066mhz
2 TB disk storage
Logitech G15
Nostromo N52
I actually have 2 laptops and 3PC's in my home and enough parts to build a 4th but I don't see myself 5 boxing any time soon.
PS the Zins rock.
